Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

Wow - there are a few going this weekend and in the next few days - so safe travels everyone and have a great time !

Lucky you to all the one's heading off this weekend, have a great trip and can't wait to see some pics ;)

I will also say lucky us as our DS3 has some sort of bug which is making him vomit like a cocker spaniel :eek: thankfully we leave next Sunday.

I was at work last night thinking "this time in 4 weeks we'll be finishing our trip and on a aeroplane back home".

Not wishing it away, just a realist LOL

I'm hoping it's not a bad week and DS gets better soon, he is a very bad patient, just like his dad.

Thinking of you Becpee. I hope your DS is feeling better soon.

My youngest DD came down with tonsillitis on Monday, Thursday night middle DD had come down with it, and then the youngest one started coughing and had trouble breathing at 4am. Dr decided she had asthma caused by the severe tonsillitis. Awesome timing for DH to be away for work :eek:

We now have a carry on bag *full* of medicine to take with us. Some necessary, and some 'just in case'.

Thanks melbarkwith, I hope all your kidlets are feeling better and that you and your DH don't get sick too.

I got butterflies reading about those of you going so soon. It's all so exciting.

That's awesome Jade that you got upgraded. Can't wait for the pics.

I hope that everyones kids get better soon. It seems to be a trend here, to get sick before you go. Everytime we go on holidays one of us gets sick. It's almost like you relax and so does your immunity. ugh.

I hope those leaving have magical trips to the mouse!!!

Wishing all the kids get better soon!!!! That's that last thing you need :rolleyes:

My speciality is getting sick on holidays. I actually had to go to Celebration hospital via ambulance (next to WDW) for 9 hours as I had gotten dehydration induced seizure and a very severe migraine with all the rushing around and excitement (and lack of sleep). $2500 dollars later I left. If you ever questioned the cost - This is why you need travel insurance! All they did was a CT and rehydration.

Thanks, I hope you manage to avoid whatever your DS has too Becpee.

Jacs1234, I think you are right about relaxing and getting sick. I wouldn't be surprised if my DH gets sick for that exact reason.

Anyway, the kids are definitely a little better (though I've already said that once this week!) so fingers crossed that the worst of it is gone by Monday.

Especially since I'm being a mean mum and sending my big girls to school for the morning :lmao: My 8YO DD is driving me crazy with her 'helping'. 'Mum, you haven't packed this yet, mum you forgot that...':worship:

OUCH! Did you have insurance for that one?

The dr, nurse and chemist all asked me about travel insurance. This was after they'd done the 'if this happens, do this' etc for my youngest DD.

Jeez thats a real reality check, isn't it? I would never travel without insurance.

Yep we did. Travel Insurance is something we never leave home without!!
We were still getting bills from the hospital a year later (which we ignored) even though they had been paid...sigh...left foot and right foot don't know what each other is doing :rolleyes:
Claim went through fine though. That was NRMA.
We go with covermore now because I now need a pre-existing condition covered and they cover it (with the extra fee) but NRMA wouldn't

Very nice hospital and very nice paramedics too :lmao:

Hopefully you won't need it!!! But as I say it is certainly worth it just in case :thumbsup2

Hi, Another food related question, popcorn::.....considering a grocery delivery but not sure about breakfast cereals. We are typically Weet-bix eaters, also sometimes Just Right. We are not Cheerios or sweet cereal eaters. What sort of cereals have you tried and enjoyed?
Also I've heard the bread is really sweet, have you found a bread that is similar to Aussie bread?

Oops ... one more thing. How did you find the coffee? I like a strong cap. Can't really function without my morning coffee.

We went through this one last week while trying to finalise our grocery delivery for tomorrow :yay::yay::yay:

I think the shredded wheat is pretty much the same as Weet-bix, but we were hesitant to get it just in case it turned out to taste like Vita-brits :sad2:

Another option is to bring Weet-bix from home. We decided to avoid cereal pretty much altogether and ended up ordering yoghurt, fruit, raisin bread and some nutri-grain bars - these seemed to be like the Kellogs fruit bars/twists here. They are not the best option, but my kids eat very healthily most of the time so it won't kill them.

While I can't remember which bread were okay from last time, we have ordered Sara Lee Whole and White this time. (something like that anyway, it was buy one get one free ;)). From what I could tell it's like the Tip Top Up Whole and White which we have occasionally.

I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't help you with that. We did spend quite a while trying to figure out if there was a latte mix similar to what you can get here though for dh. Hopefully we figured that out okay :rolleyes:

Hope that helps a little.

The day has finally arrived. We leave for the airport in a couple of hours :cool1: DH & I are getting very excited.

Would like to say thank you to all of the advice and opinions that everyone has provided :thanks:

Have checked and rechecked:
passports = check
tickets =check
visas = check
money = check

Hello

Can not remember if we saw anything like weet-bix we just get cornflakes instead. Their bread is similar to the new abbotts range from tiptop, with the added rye flour also not being a square loaf more like a hitop loaf, depends on what you buy as being more sweet more so in the white bread.
And there chocolate it is not sweet like ours either, I notice most of the coffee I had was strong but mostly brewed.

The only not tooo sweet bread we found at whole foods. But I can't remember the brand.
Most of it is too sweet. so then there is the other option heading towards sourdough. But it is completely different. It is growing on me but it is more calories and drier.

With cereal we basically go for granola or museli. The rest is sugar covered sugar.
Special k was in Hawaii but I don't remember seeing it on the mainland...but my memory is a bit hazy.
Our MAIN breakfast is actually Quakers oats. I LOVE it and there are low sugar options. It is similar to Uncle tobys oats...but closer to the quick oats version. We actually always bring some home with us.

Not a strong coffee drinker and I usually don't drink any or much caffeine on holidays.
I do know the stuff they have in the hotels to use in the coffee maker STINKS. My dad usually tries it out.

I know American breakfast's are usually "interesting" LOL
Grits? not sure about spuds for brekky....

Just had DS3 at the Dr this morning, he needed some AB's as he has a bit of a chesty cough, didn't want it going to his ears, might have made flying next week a bit of a nightmare.

Can't believe this time next week we'll be at Tullamarine sitting waiting for our flight to Sydney, I better pull my finger out and get organized LOL :laughing:

I forgot to say I just bought a new camera as well, a PINK one LOL I got such a good deal as the store were having a sale anyway and i'll be able to claim the duty next week as well :)

Has anyone ever booked their Disneyland or Disney World holiday through dreamsunlimitedtravel.com or yourmagicaljourneys.com ?

I am about to book our Disney World trip for next year, dates are confirmed, trip is definate, just waiting to see if the $ goes up a bit more before booking. We are also thinking of squeezing in a Disneyland trip in in Early December or early January. I have all of the brochures from different travel agents and thought that I may get a better deal as the pricings in those brochures are set and they would have been set when the $ was not so good, so it may be cheaper to go through one of the two agents above. I head that magical journeys, when you book will automatically change your booking if say a better deal comes along for your stay (like free dining at WDW), don't know about dreams unlimited though.

So I just thought I would see if any other Aussies had used either of these online disney booking companies.

Thank you in advance :goodvibes
