Hello Aussie Dissers,

Well the time has come and we are about to book our WDW holiday, now that our dates are set and our leave approved. :cool1:

I was just wondering if any of you have booked through Dreams Unlimted and how did you find the booking experience. Our Dreams Unlimited contact Tracey has been very helpful so far. However I was just wondering if there were any things I need to watch out for?

We are booking for December 8th - December 22nd then we will be going on a 4 night cruise on the new Disney Dreams Ship. Sooooo excited as this is our first trip to WDW as a family. :lovestruc

If you have any good tips or any bad experiences I would love to hear from you.

Back to planing

Hi there, well I've booked our trip with Michele from Dreams Unlimited and she's been great so far. However, I'm guessing it will be more helpful for you to hear back from those that have come back after booking with them.

I am currently dealing with Michele too. She has been great answering all of my questions.

Last year we used DU for our cruise, and they were great (I wouldn't be going back if I hadn't been happy with them). The only complaint I have is lack of contact in an emergency. On the morning of our cruise our 3 year old woke up vomiting. I had no idea what to do or who to contact, and I knew DCL would ask us if anyone had been sick. It was a Sunday morning and there was no answer on the phone number they gave us.

There was a discrepancy on our onboard account for our cruise, resulting in our credit card being charge $150 more than it should have been. DU got it sorted for us.

We used Katie from DU for our WDW trip last year. She was great and I'd definitely use her again.

Free dining came out after we'd paid for the bulk of the trip and Katie had arranged for an immediate refund back onto my credit card within hours of the FD being announced and before I was even aware that we were lucky enough to score FD.

Katie knew (from our regular emails) that we wanted the normal dining plan but the hotel we were staying in only offered the QS, so Katie arranged for us to pay the small difference to upgrade to the next level. That saved us over $2000! :thumbsup2

We also used another DU lady (sorry, can't think of her name at this moment) for the 4 night hotel only stay we had at the Disneyland hotel in Anaheim.

2 days prior to check in I noticed that the nightly rate for the hotel had been reduced on Expedia.com.au, so I emailed DU and the rep contacted the DLH on our behalf and got them to 'price match'. (As an aside, the DLH was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world ).

I am using them at the moment and have Carole. So far so good. Ill let you know after my trip when its all worked out!!!!!

We just returned from a holiday and we used DU. They booked our DL, WDW and DCL portions of the trip.

They were fantastic.

Only issue we had was our original TA resigned and a new one Kelsie was appointed very quickly but Kelsie's emails were bouncing. It turned out there was an issue on DU server.

When I complained I wasn't getting any responses from Kelsie the management responded same day and Kelsie contacted me and gave me her personal email so we could communicate.

I loved the fact when discounts came out they picked them up and we got the savings. We too got Free Dining even though part of our saty was outside the period of offer we got it for the whole time.

Hello,

Well I would like to thank everyone for their comments and experiences. I am very confident that we are booking with the right people. After reading all this info I will be going ahead and booking our holiday with DU this Thursday we have our deposit ready to go.
:thumbsup2
I can't wait to make this payment as it will make this holiday sooooooo real.

I will be askig more and more questions in the comming weeks so get ready :rotfl:
Thanks again,

Jen :santa:

You may as well submit the quote form now. I sent mine last Thursday and we still haven't paid the deposit yet. I had quite a few questions, so due to the time difference, I send an email one day, then I get the reply the following morning. By then it is outside their business hours, so they do not read my reply until the next day. It is a slow process when you have plenty of questions!!

Does Dreams book ADR's for you as well? It would be nice if they did because I am never going to figure out what day and time I have to be up early to make calls. Not to mention the cost of international calls.

I'm sure they would. I guess there's no harm asking? Last time we used DU, it was only for the cruise so it was pretty straightforward.

This time we've gone with small world vacations and Karen, our TA, made all our ADRs for us.

You could try doing it yourself online if you have less than in your party. Its pretty straightforward. Otherwise, use google mail's calling feature. They let you make free phone calls to the US until the end of this year.

And I think the dining line opens at 7am US time which is currently 10pm Sydney time.

QuirkyButterfly, you can do your ADR's online if going to WDW, that way you don't have to pay for the phone call :thumbsup2

I always prefer to do my own then if the time that I want it not available I can straight away rethink or change things around. I did get my US TA to do one for me as it was one I had to call to do, but all the others I did myself online, very easy. If somebody else does it for you then you have to wait to get their email, then let them know the changes, then they have to receive the email to make them and with WDW, in that time the ADR you want will probably have gone. It's really really easy to do online and you can also go online and cancel and rebook too. That's just my personal preference. I like to be in control of the ADR and if I want to change it or re book, I can do it straight away without having to wait for somebody else.

If going to DL then they could do them for you as there isn't an online system there for restaurants.

Quirky,

Yes they did all our ADR's for our recent trip.

I just sent our TA a list of the restaurants I wanted and preferred times and she did the rest. I tried doing it online with disney and I found it slow going.

I even requested the chef's table at V&A. Whilst I missed out on that we got the next best thing the Queen Victoria Room. There were 3 tables in this room and your own private server.

I even changed a couple at the last minute, no hassle. They then include that on your itinerary which you can download and print with all your reversation and park information for each day.

I am booked on the podcast cruise & I used Tracey. Well before the booking window she was emailing me to get an idea of where I wanted to dine, times rough plans etc.

Then as sooon as the time window was open, she booked. All good

Pity we will be the only Aussies on the Podcast cruise - bit hard to get the Aussie Aussie Aussie chant going with just one family

I have used DU twice - in 2009 and again for our trip earlier this month 2010 and they were great both times.

So great in fact I have recommended them to two other people who have used them and been satisfied and we are using them again for our trip in 2011 and so is another friend who will be travelling next year also.

They are cost effective, efficient and have a very fast turnaround on thier communication. You are never left wondering or feeling insecure about your plans.

Go for it.
