Aurora in her blue dress?

And then, why do they have Ariel greeting in aqua when she never wears a dress that color?

Agreed- I'm kind of surprised she doesn't wear the sparkly purple dress from the end of the movie. (Although I guess now they couldn't do that since Rapunzel's dress is kind of purplish, although hers is more pink, while Ariel's dress would be almost silvery- I'm just picturing it being made of a similar material as the shell bra.) Depending on the shade of aqua (I've never seen this dress in person, only in people's photos here), it seems like it would be too close in color to either Jasmine or Tiana.

You got me thinking and I remember Aurora wearing a purple dress in the MK castle show "Cinderellabration" a few years ago (2005-06?)

I think that if Cindy's dress was the real color (silver) then Aurora could be in bright blue and no one would get them confused? See, its all Cindy's fault...!!!:lmao: I'm also really glad that I got to meet Aurora in her beautiful blue dress many MANY years ago In EPCOT....:thumbsup2

We'll, we could probably have an entire argument on the real color of Cindy's dress. I've had this discussion with a lot of folks. Some think it's blue, some silver, some blue with white peplums and sleeves. The thuth is it looks different in different scenes of the movie, depending on the lighting and shadows. I think it's a silvery light blue, but definitely blue.

I'm going to have to watch the movie again. I thought Flora wanted it pink, Fauna wanted it Green, and Meriweather wanted it blue.

Well, Ariel really only has one ballgown in the movie. And that's pink, and Aurora has that color covered. I'm telling you, it's about color balance in the group shots!

FWIW........ I do like the green gown!

Actually, in all of the Disney Princess materials we have at the house for my 2 year old where Ariel has legs, they have her in a pink gown. Just a lighter pink than Aurora's. Jasmine seems to have the blue/green color all to herself. Except at WDW.... (I wish they'd do Ariel's "other" outfit, the one she's wearing during "Kiss the Girl".)

Is that possibly why it looks greenish in the pic I have? It's from a long time ago, but I swear I recall it being that shade of bluish green (kind of a gem tone, if that makes sense) in real life and not just from the camera. Again, I've never seen the movie, so I'm definitely not the expert here.

Although this was also on the same trip when the castle was done up as a cake, so who knows what other strange and wrong things might have been going on...

I'd have to watch the movie again too, but I really think it was just a battle over pink and blue.

It has to be. Or I got this all wrong.......

Ariel wears a green dress as a human during the movie so I understand why she's seen in that. She does also have a pink dress and her wedding dress but I've never seen her in the parks in human form in anything other than the green.
I've only seen Aurora in pink in the parks- interesting to see the pictures of her in blue!

Flora wanted it pink and Meriweather wanted it blue! I have that movie memorized practically! I even had the school I worked at last year do Sleeping Beauty the Musical. It was great!!!

And the only time I've seen her in blue is on a tshirt I had special made for myself. :)

I wish they had the villians out more, more Hercules and Hunchback characters too! I've always wanted to meet Esmeralda, she's one of my favorites, and I've never seen her.

Does she wear a green dress in the movie? I only remember her pink dress and the blue one she wears during Kiss the Girl. I don't think she ever wears green.

The last time I went to WDW with my family, I met Cinderella and Aurora in the Exposition Hall on Main Street, and Aurora was in her blue dress. I need to find that photo.

We met her in her blue dress in 2002 during a MVMCP. We were walking through Fantasyland and they had Cinderella's carriage up by the castle with a lot of different characters around it to meet. It made my night getting to meet so many new characters. I miss the days when they had more random characters out. I got to meet Hercules, Meg and Malificent later during that same trip

I promise I won't call her Cinderella. I think anyone who mistakes her for Cinderella should be taken out back and fed to the alligators!
Well, folks do tend to mistake characters quite easily! LOL The best one we heard was on our recent trip. We had just left Cinderella's Royal Table from breakfast and outside we found Cinderella's stepmother and step sisters. Over to the left, just around the edge of the castle was the fairy godmother. We were waiting in line for the step mother/sisters and a family in front of said, "We just got Cinderella's grandmother's autograph over there!":rotfl2: Grandmother?? Really??? Does NO ONE watch Disney movies or read the storybooks anymore?

Mom2rtk....that costume is awesome!!
As you can tell by my screen name I am a big sleeping beauty fan. On our first trip I was able to get pix of Aurora and my daughter in her blue dress 2001. I haven't seen it lately and agree it is a way to tell Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty apart. Does anyone remember that Cindrellas Royal table used to be called King Stephans Banquet Hall...which is Auroras Dad...so maybe they were confused too!

:)
