Do you call your aunts and uncles aunt so and so or uncle so and so? Or do your neices or nephews call you aunt so and so or uncle so and so?

I could never call my aunt's and uncle's anything but aunt ______ & uncle _____. But, most of my neices and nephews have always called me Cindy. It's probably because I'm closer in age to them than to their parents (my brothers & sisters).

I used aunt and uncle until I was an adult, now just call them by their first name.

My nieces and nephews call me Aunt Michelle.

I'm Aunt Bet to my neices and nephews. I only had two uncles (no aunts) and always called them Uncle ______.

My ex's family doesn't use the aunt and uncle titles, so the boys call them by their first names. They extended that to my sister, and don't use the Aunt title with her.

DD uses Aunt and Uncle with everyone, with the exception of one of my SIL's. She was Allison's teacher in pre-school, so she still calls her Miss Peni. :) :)

We never called them anything but Aunt ____ or Uncle ____. As we got older, we would just use the first names of the ones we were close to, but the others, no.

I'm Aunt Laurie, or mean, depending.

I call my Aunts/Uncles that and my nieces and nephew call me Aunt...some of their friends call me Aunt, too :)

One of my brothers and I call all our aunts and uncles by their name minus the title. My other brother calls them by their title and has his kids call us with the title. I like plain ole Shannon. Being called Aunt Shannon makes me jump for some reason.

We've always had Ashli call all her aunts and uncles by their title followed by their first name. It's funny though because we come from such large families that Ashli has an aunt on my side that's only 6 years older than she is and one on David's side that is only 4 years older. She could drop the titles now if she wanted to but it's so ingrained that I don't think she ever will, lol.

I have to say that I LOVE to hear my neices and nephews to call me Aunt Keli. I don't know why but it makes me feel good, for me it's sort of like having your kid call you mama instead of your name, there's nothing wrong with it, but it's just not for me.

Iam Aunt Mishell or Aunt Shell to one sisters 3 kids. My baby sisters kids are young (she is 23) and they call me Aunt Sue.I dont really know why but my nephew Brennan started that and he has never stopped he is only 3 go figure:rolleyes: As long as they call me something instead of HEY YOU I am good with that ......

Wishing everyone a "Unwell" day here and there

Aunt Mishell,Shell or Sue LOL

I grew up with my family calling me "Lynn"..so I am Aunt Lynn. My nephew will sometimes say "Aunt Carol"//// he knows I really like that :)

I used Aunt and Uncle until I got older. Now I just call them by their name. :)

I still use titles when talking to my aunts and uncles. I have two nieces, one of whom can't talk yet, but her older sister calls me Aunie.

DS calls his aunts and uncles (Aunt ___ and Uncle ___). Even with adult friends of ours, he often calls them aunt and uncle too.

I still refer to my Aunts and Uncles using the title most times.

I agree -- I'm Auntie Judi to all my nieces and nephews, even those that are grown, and my Aunts and Uncles will forever have the title before their names.

I am Auntie Leslie to my side and Aunt Leslie on DH's side. My kids use Auntie and Uncle to not only their true family, but call my good friends Auntie So&So, and Uncle Whosywhats.

Of course we all have nicknames that the kids use. Growing up, my sisters and brother called me Lestoil - and that got shortened to Toil - so the kids call me that, too!

I call them with the title, Aunt or Uncle, so do my DD's. My nieces & nephews call me & DH Aunt & Uncle. My question is DD will be 13 soon, my brother is getting married & BIL just got married. Is it disrespectful for DD not to call them Aunt. It's hard to change after calling them by their first name for so long & DD is shy & I think she would feel really odd calling them Aunt now.

I used to call them by Aunt (Name) and Uncle (Name), but as I got older I don't do that as often. Occasionally it's still Aunt Name or Uncle name, but the rest of the time it's just Name. But I love them all the same. :D

It depends. My niece and nephew who are only 6 and 7 years younger just call me by my name, but all the younger ones call me Aunt Sue or Suzie (only my family gets away with Suzie). In real life, I prefer Suzanne.

My kids call their Aunts and Uncles those titles, and one Aunt who was dubbed AJ for "Aunt Jane" by a coworker. We liked it, so it stuck, with older son interchanging AJ or Aunt Jane. We have a couple of friends who have Aunt Status.

To differentiate, my step father (who has only become remotely close to us since older son was born) is called Grandpa Bill...both biological grandfathers have passed, and I didn't want to give him the grandpa title alone. He's quite alright with it, and now the younger nephews use it as well. (even his biological grandson picked that one up!)
