I have reservations for aulani for July 5-15, 1bed ocean view. We had really hoped to reserve June 10-20 since these dates are closer to our 30'th aniversay. Has anyone Had a summer waitlist go through? We are thinking about canceling the waitlist and just going ahead and getting air lined up and making any other reservations for our trip. Any advice?

I'm on a waitlist to upgrade from a 1br for June 15th through the 23 to a 2br for the last 5 months with no movement. I feel if anything is going to happen its going to be at the 30 day mark. The problem for you is the airfares have been going up since I first booked...so if I was in your shoes I'm not sure I would wait much longer.

Hi there! In mid March I booked 5 of 8 nights I wanted from June 9-17 in an ocean view studio. The 3 nights I didn't get we're scattered among the time. I waitlisted 2 of them, and they came through about 2 weeks later. Then I waitlisted the final night and it came through a couple days later. My plan was to book cash nights at the 60 day mark if they didn't come through, but luckily I didn't have to.

Hi Jenn. That is awesome that your waitlist went through! I thought I would put it out there to see if anyone is seeing movement. I am going to give it about another week before I throw in the towel. July is ok, just a little further out from our anniversary, more points, and more expensive airfare. I can imagine ten days might be a little hard to fill.

Guess I'm not so sentimental. Our 20th anniversary is April 25th but we're just doing our usual August vacation dates to DL and Hawaii and calling it our anniversary trip. We're also bringing DS (16) with us so I guess to SOME folks they may not call it an "anniversary trip" since it's after the fact and since we're going as a family. Since our anniversary is during the week we'll likely just go out to dinner on the weekend or something (a real splurge for us to do something other than take-out).:rotfl: This summer deal works for our family as we can't take a 2 week trip in April with DS in school. Since I'm an anal retentive planner I wouldn't be able to wait out the airfares to that close to the trip. We booked airfare in Feb. for August and I just keep watching them go up for the most part... This close I would cancel the waitlist & get my airfare booked so I can move on with my planning.

Thanks Annie. I am going to give it one more week. I think I missed out on the lower airfare at this point anyway. Being a teacher our travel time is limited unfortunately to the most expensive times. I think your anniversary plans sound great. For our 25'th we took our daughter and her new husband and our son and his soon to be wife to St. Martin for a week. We saved points so we could do a RCI trade for three one bedrooms. The resort was not the greatest but we had a great time anyway. We really look forward to our trip but the July 4'th weekend is a tradional family gathering that we will be sorry we have to miss.
