Aulani Transportation and Rates???'s

We are trying to plan a trip to Aulani in May. Should be the tail end of the expansion, nice weather and still Value season. My questions are as follows:
1. Does anyone expect discounts or packages for May and if so when would they typically be available (example right now it is 5 nights for 3 but it ends Dec 18).
2. We are only going to be at the resort 3-5 nights (depending on sales) and just plan on hanging out there. Is there enough to do on site? Are there enough food options?
3. We do not need a car (planning on staying onsite) but does anyone know how much a taxi/shuttle is from the airport? Does Disney sponsor any transportation I am missing?
4. Last but not least any location or room recommendations?

I just returned from a week and spent every day at the pool in a cabana. If you enjoy pool time you will be occupied. If you don't like being at the pool, there's not much else. There is a golf course across the street that my husband said is very nice for a public course.

Food options are limited and pricey. There are some options across the street.

Disney provides no airport transportation. We rented a car. It was our 6th HI vacation and I couldn't be there without a car. Rentals are reasonably priced and it's an easy drive.
