Anyone been to Aulani recently and made a grocery stop? I know many stop at Costco but that's not an option for us (no membership, only two of us so don't need large sizes).

In your opinion, which store offers the best grocery selection - Target, Walmart, or Safeway? Do all three sell beer? Main things we will be looking for are beer, water, bagels, fresh baked goods (muffins, etc), and some toiletries. Want to make one stop and keep it short as we'll be stopping on our way to Aulani and will be anxious to get there :)

Thanks in advance!

We used both in late May/early June. Target had the required items you mentioned. Walmart also had most, but we found fewer baked goods and breads at Walmart for some reason. I would go to Target since it is closer to Aulani and easier to get to and from.

I found Safeway was best for fresh baked goods like muffins but Target does have the usual refrigerated bagels. I strongly suggest trying to find a farmers market for fruit and veggies, if that is of interest to you. I know the Marriott holds a mini one in the lower lobby and the fruit is so much better than the supermarket stuff. There is this one right in Kapolei on Thursdays at the high school and I know there are many others on Oahu

I liked Target in Kapolei too, it was clean and well laid out plus they had a nice mix of island goods like portugese sausage as well as old reliable items like Bubba Burgers.

Edit- I just re-read your original post and based on wanting only one stop on the way to the resort, I would say Target has you covered for all you want

We are here now and went to Target today. Had everything we needed and easy to get to.

They no longer have bags! You will need to bring your own or buy recyclable bags. Obviously it was a bit of a surprise. We had the kids meet us at the lobby with our suitcases to get the food to the room.

No bags, wow! That is a change from when we were there in October. We usually bring our own bags at home, but I wouldn't think about it for when we fly to Aulani. Thanks for the heads up.
