Aulani Online Check in question

A few weeks ago, I called DVC Member Svcs and they transferred me to the front desk at Aulani to add a couple of room requests to our reservation after asking them some questions. then, last week, just to be sure, I sent an email to DVC with the room requests so that they would have them as well.

Today, when I completed our online check in - under the "Room Requests" tab - there was no place to enter any comments, etc - only the ability to check a box for "Ground Floor." :scared: What?! I DO NOT want to be on the Ground Floor?!? Why would that even be there anyway, when we have an oceanview room? Anyone else have this happen? Should I call AGAIN? Then they're SURE to give me the crappiest room possible! :teacher:

The online check-in system is not designed to deal with the variety of choices available to DVC members who have booked DVC villas. This seems to be true not only for Aulani but for almost all of the DVC resorts at Walt Disney World as well.

Personally, I make room requests with Member Services, usually about the time I book a villa, and then don't fill out anything when I do the online check-in. Sometimes we get our request granted, and sometimes its close to what we want. Actually, we tend to be fairly non-specific about our requests. We'll be at Aulani in October and all that we have requested for our Ocean View Studio is "Overlooking Waikolohe Valley, high floor."
 
The online checkin system is a generic system and is used for the cash hotel resorts as well as DVC. If you already made your request to DVC there is not reason to add it again. Each time you make a request, it wipes out the prior request. So when you gave DVC the requests, it wiped out the requests Aulani make for you.

Keep in mind your requests are just that requests. No matter how many times you ask, you are not guaranteed to get your requests. Unlike cash hotels a DVC resorts are often fully booked and requests are often not filled because the current guest(s) have not check out of the room or view your want.
 
We are at Aulani now....I didn't do online check-in bcuz with the hurricane last week we didn't know if our flight would even go. When we got here I said to the CM at the front desk that I had some room requests (we booked an IV so I requested high floor in the long wing of the Ewa tower overlooking the Starlit Hui lawn). She said yes I got my request HOWEVER it turned out the only part we actually got was the 16th floor. We are not in the LONG wing therefore our view is of the parking garage. I am not sure they actually pay attention to the long wing bit.:confused3.
