Aulani Island view or Pool View?

Hi there,

I know it has been asked before, "which view to get". Are the Island views as terrible as most people say? I am willing to use more points to get a Poolside but would rather save the 30 points for when the kids come in November to Disney World.

I do not want to be looking at parking lots or other hotels. So is there good views on the island view side? If so, what should I try to ask for when the time comes for room requests.
