Aulani in September 7 Months Out?

We just had to rearrange our July HHI trip and ended up having to book a weekend night at nearly double the points. I'm hoping to recoup the points next year when we go to Aulani since we had originally planned for a July trip but now are thinking we might go in September instead. That will save us 30 points, so losing the 12 this year doesn't sting as bad. My question though is whether it's possible to get a pool-view studio at 7 months out for September. I figure it will be easier than July?

Exactly. I'm a month too late to get an accurate picture. Oceanview is wide open, but poolview is spotty. I'm wondering what it's like if I try 7 months out right when MS opens.

All i can offer are my experiences. Getting on first thing in the morning when your 7 month window opens generally gets you what you want. 5 minutes later, not so much...

What I'm surprised about is the week of our 30th anniversary in July was wide open, but the weeks in September were mostly open. I figured it would be the other way around. Since I'm also booking a cruise and will have to book it fairly far in advance, it worries me that I will have it booked and then not be able to get a studio at Aulani for the dates we need.

I find the current availability misleading due to the pool refurbishments this year. Aulani at 7 months is normally ok except early July and Christmas.

Does anyone have any experience with NCL changing dates on a cruise? I'm wondering if we should go ahead and try to book July even though we will have a September cruise booked. Then when I get 7 months out from September, I'll try to book Aulani. If I can't get it, I can then try to change the cruise to July.
