Aulani/DLR Combo?

Has anyone done this?

Flying from the middle of Canada and we are thinking of doing a week in Aulani and then stopping at Disneyland on the way back for 5 days at Grand Californian. I think we can easily connect thru LA vs Vancouver.

My dates are flexible, looking at going next January or Feb so I hope I can get it at the 7 month window.

I just got back from a similar trip last Saturday, except that I stopped at DL first. I spent 3 days at DL, which was plenty of time for me, followed 11 glorious days at Aulani! I wanted to break up the trip so that I wouldn't have two really long days of travel. Plus, I had never been to DL so that was a deciding factor, too.

I was able to get the Grand Californian and Aulani at 7 months for May, so I would hope the chances of you being able to do the same would be good. I would watch out for some of the US holidays - Martin Luther King day in January and President's Day in February. I suspect those might impact DL more than Hawaii, but you never know.

DH & I are going to be doing this in October. We're doing the ABD Backstage Magic tour and then doing a couple extra days at DL before we're doing Aulani. we're really looking forward to it.

Since we're closer to DL we tend to do more than one island when we go to Hawaii. Aulani and DL sounds like a fun trip to me.
