Hi I'm wondering for the people who went to Aulani, how much was your airfare? Where did you travel from and what time of the year?

Just wondering on average airfare for Hawaii.

Thanks,
Teresa

We visited Aulani last Sept. We booked our flights using Frequent Flyer miles -- but I believe fares, at time we booked, were running about $370 pp for SAN/HNL rt. I'm sure we could have found fares around $325 if we had searched long and hard ... but booking with miles was quick and easy.

Booked ours from Chicago for last week of June. Stopping over in LA on the way there and flying home direct: $940 pp

I've been looking at fares for June 16th to June 23rd from Phila, cost is running about $1200 each. The flights stop in Phoenix going to and from HNL.

We live near Phila too but booked JFK to HNL for $790 per person on Hawaiian Air. It is a direct flight, new to Hawaiian Air, service starts this summer. We have a July trip planned. If your travel is June or after, check out the Hawaiin Airlines site.

From Miami for our June trip, I could have gotten a there and back for about $1,000. Since we are staying a few days in Anaheim the price I paid was a little less than $1,200.

around mothers day week I was looking from Seattle to HNL for 3 people was about $1300 total.

I booked my tickets last October. We leave next Monday. Flying from Philly to Phoenix and then to Maui. Home flight is Honolulu to Phoenix to Philly.
Ticket was $980. I had been tracking prices for 2 months. They would go down to $940 then up to $1020. It flip-flopped a lot. Finally I just booked it. Have an interisland flight from Maui to Honolulu for $80

We are going June 24th from Miami to Seattle taking the Disney Alaskan Cruise then Seattle to Ohau staying at Aulani for a week then back to Miami for $940pp.

If your flying from the east coast its always somewhere between 900 -1100 depending on the time of the year.

We had hoped to visit Aulani this August and I had been tracking airfare from the DC area for several months. When our 7 month booking window finally arrived earlier this month airfare was averaging around $1,400 pp to include a stop in So. CA for a few nights at DL and an inter-island hop to Maui for a few nights. I priced it out several ways & on several airlines & just couldn't bring myself to pay that much so we passed for this year. That 7 month booking window was here & I had to make a decision for FL or HI. :guilty:

(Note - I did NOT price it simply as a round trip between DC and HNL but that would've (should've) been a lot less. Going to Hawaii for us always includes a few nights on Maui and while we're THAT FAR WEST we wanted to visit DL again as it's been awhile.)

Dulles to LAX for a several day stay, then on to Honolulu, then back to Dulles - $830.

We booked for the very end of July from Charlotte and it was about $3300 for 3 people. We are going to LAX and staying at DL for 3 days and then Flying on to HNL. On the way home we stop in Phoenix. If we didn't stop for DL it would have been $1000 each ticket.

Gioing to Aulani the last week of June, 2012:

DH, DD and her friend...Freq flyer miles 45,000 per person from Chicago, booked in August. Would have been around $1100 each in cash.
Me Chgo to San jose, CA, then onto Honolulu, about $1200 RT, booked in Nov.
DGS, reason I am going thru SJC is to pick him up. His rt from San Jose to Honolulu around $700 booked in December.

All this took a major leap of faith, since I booked the 'free tickets' long before the 7 month window opened for June reservations. Fortunately, we got what we wanted at Aulani!

We were at Aulani the middle of October. We live around Phila and flew out of the Newark Airport. The fare for Continental was 750.00 round trip with no layovers. That made our trip only 10.5 hours instead of more hours with a layover. We took a van to the airport from phila. T

We're flying from EWR. We are seeing some of the southwest and Disneyland prior to flying to HNL, so our itinerary is a bit different. We are flying into PHX, fling out to HNL from LAX and then non stop home to EWR. We are paying 975 per ticket. A RT ticket to HNL for same dates was 1000. So it's actually a bit cheaper the way I'm doing it.

Wow! When I went in November 2011, I bought tickets in June (flying Toronto - SF- HNL), and it cost $700 RT. Seems prices have gone up considerably!

I just returned from Aulani :goodvibes.
I bought our airline tickets last July and paid $800pp round trip from Chicago. I had the choice of stopping in either Dallas or LA. (It was direct when I purchased it but American eliminated that route in early Jan )

I've only been watching prices on Kayak for the past month, but they haven't gotten any lower than $604/pp from LAX to HNL to LAX on Sat, 11/3/12 through Mon, 11/12/12 (which is Veteran's Day). Seems pretty high to me, possibly because of the weekend and holiday dates? I don't know.

I ended up paying only $15 after using most of our Delta Sky Miles for these two tickets to Honolulu.

I just booked EWR to SFO, SFO to HNL, HNL to EWR. So thats Newark NJ with stop in San Fran and a direct flight back home. May 19 and June 03 return. Tickets were from 840 up to $1200 depending on the day/week. I locked in at $840 so if you hunt there are good rates. By the way I can fly out of three pretty close airports and Newark was the lowest by far. Philadelphia averaged over $100 more all the time for this set of flights while Philadelphia is always a deal to Vegas.
