August Weekend vs. Weekday crowds?

I realize weekends are generally busier year round since DLR is much more of a locals park, but is there much a difference in August (2nd week)? Planning on spending 3 days and hubbys work schedule would be easier to go for a sat/sun/mon, but flight prices same if we do Tues/Wed/Thurs. My instincts tell me it's always better to avoid weekends, but really does it make a difference in summer?

During the summer Saturdays are often the least busy day of the week due to AP blackouts. However Tue-Thur will likely be less busy on the whole than Sat-Mon.
