Hello,

In 2002 I went to WDW in October and the weather (for the most part) was perfect. Sunny, not too humid, hardly any rain. But this year due to various family work/holiday issues we are going first 2 weeks in Aug.

I have to admit that I am dreading the weather, In oct 2002 there was one day we left the park at lunchtime to discover it was 104 degrees! Can someone please confirm this will not be the case for the whole of my trip.

I dont do too badly in the heat but I do prefer heat with sunshine not lots of clouds but DF will melt if the temps are ridiculous.

NB - Nothing we can do about it now but just wondering if I should put DF in a sauna several hours a day for a week or so before we fly! :rotfl2:

I've been twice in August. Very hot and very humid with heavy afternoon rain showers, but not impossible. Drink lots of water and find air conditioning for some of the afternoon. Sometimes the rain happened while we were inside an attraction and all we knew of it was the puddles when we came out. We're doing our third August trip this year so it can't be too bad.

We've done July/August a few times...it is very hot, humid and lots of rain showers some lasting for hours. We found it extremely draining but really had no option as we wouldn't take our children out of school.

Take a break in the afternoon for a swim or snooze, you'll feel much better able to cope again in the evening. Although going in August isn't for us any more, it's better than not going at all isn't it? Good luck!

We are going in August too - school holidays and wife's new job as a teacher means we have to these days.
Our 12th trip and 1st time in August, yes it will be hot and humid - we are staying in a villa and will ensure we relax as much as possible.

Get to the Theme Parks early and leave at lunchtime is what we will be doing.

As others have said, it will be very hot and humid for the whole holiday, it will also rain most days. Last year we ended up going to the parks until lunch time then spending the afternoons, either at the pool or somewhere inside and then went back to the parks in the early evening.

We have been in August twice so far and are there again this August, yes it can be hot and humid, but it can be done. Get to the parks early, drink plenty of water, we stayed in a villa so bought small bottles of water, drained a small amount out (so they don't expand to much) and froze them, took them with us to parks on bottles straps and this kept us going until we felt it was time for a swim, not only did we have cold drinks but something cold to hold onto to cool us down. We did encounter a few very heavy thunder storms, but we used that time for shopping or relaxing, we even went for 5 days at the villa last August without any power-therefore no air-conditioning (due to hurricane Charley) and we coped, it would have been better had we been able to use the pool, but no power meant no pump and the water was very muddy and murky due to debris, you have never seen 4 more happier people the day the pool was cleaned, but even this did not put us off and we are there again for 3 weeks this August.

Yes, great advice.

I think you just need to take extra pre-caution on a few things having just come back and not had enough sun it will be certainly much different when we go in August.
