EE for Epcot this morning, so we were up early again because this was the day for Mission:Space. No swim this morning, too psyched for Epcot.
We arrived at Epcot before 8:00, showed our resort ID and lined up. Wen we got in, we headed straight for MS and walked on. Well, almost. There was maybe a 5 minute wait. In the meantime, we passed by a habitat that reminded us of the living quarters from 2001: A Space Odyssey. The theming of the queuing area is great.
On to the main event. I must admit, all the warnings made me somewhat nervous, although I'm not clautrophobic and am seemingly impervious to motion sickness under any circumstances (anyone from NASA recruiting read these boards?) First time out, I was an engineer. Then we were blasting off. Oh, my! It was amazing! It was the best! I can't begin to describe. Hats off to the imagineers and standing ovations all around!
And hooray for Gary Sinise!
Then, because it was DS's favourite ride before we went on Mission: Space, we got FPs for TT. While we were waiting, we went into the Wonders of Life and checked out Body Wars, Then we did TT. You know, I'd forgotten how much fun that is, once you finally get into it. I really think they're giving out too many FPs though, because the line for FP riders was 30 minutes. Our next step was, naturally, to get FPs for Mission: Space. We went back into wonders of Life, and got lunch while we were waiting for our FP time to come up. Then we did JIYI and HISTA. One more blast off, and back to see the Making of Me. At this point,we realized that burning the candle at both ends had taken its toll, so we went back to POR for an afternoon nap and swim.
Time for another tradition - Dinner at HOB. Can't go to WDW without my Elwood. That has to be the best chicken sandwich anywhere. After dinner, we went to DQ, because DS was clamouring to go. You know, of all the things at Disney, this is the one I can do without. It was my first time there, and maybe it's because the lineups for things was so long, but I just can't see any way this is worth the money they charge to get in. This is what DH said in February, when only he and DS went and they paid to get in. At least this time we had UPH's. Maybe it's because arcades don't appeal to us. YMMV, and all that.
Back to the room, and another swim, and we hied our waterlogged selves to bed.
Next - Day 4 - In which we find out why it's called Typhoon Lagoon.
