August - September 2013 Room-only Discounts

Please pardon me for jumping in here, I hope it's okay...but were you able to get the AAA discount online, or did you call? I just got a AAA quote and am having a hard time getting in touch with the agent, but I'd really rather just go through Disney if possible.

I couldn't get it online, but called Disney directly and they were able to apply the 15% AAA discount.

Great, thanks! I'm going to hold out a few more days to see if a room-only discount appears for late August, and then I'll give Disney a call directly if that doesn't pan out.

Just wondering, if the room only discount is offered to Disney Visa cardholders a few days ahead of the general public discount, what day would that discount begin? I'm asking about the room only discount for after Aug. 14. Thank you!

You can book a room only using a AAA discount with Disney .

If you want to add dining or tickets, it then becomes a package and you have to go through an AAA agent.

I have summer discounted room from 8/12-8/15 and then a separate AAA reservation from 8/15-8/17. Hoping a better discount comes out for those 2 nights but an AAA discount is better than none

Which resort did you book and for how many nights.

I originally used it for the Polynesian, for a split stay we were planning (that is now changed!). It was for 5 nights. The other part of our split stay was to be at AoA, but they couldn't apply the AAA discount to the LM rooms there - the agent at the time said those rooms are never discounted due to popularity.

We're now booked at the Poly for our whole trip, and we have the 30% discount for the first two nights. Just waiting and hoping that we can get the same discount for our other 5 nights

I might call back and speak to a different CM, just to be sure. I had my AAA agent quote both a room only rate and the cost of a room plus tickets. Either way, it was 15% off the room and tickets were full price. I booked POR for 8/21 thru the 29th. You and I would over-lap for one day, so I would think you would get a discount on at least the 21st. You know, I think the advice you get from people on this board like Joe is accurate. Disney CMs are not always the best informed.

We will know when it happens. May 9 was the release but visa has always got three days advance or more. That's where tomorrows date comes from. The room discount dates are indeed foggy. I have faith in the travel dates more so than release. So we will see. They have released both free dining and room discounts at the same time before.

Let's call this tentative for now, but if the information is correct, it would certainly bridge the gap for those going in late-August.

Room only discount for travel dates between August 15 and September 28 with some exclusions (such as LM rooms).

This could be available for booking around the same time as the free dining promotion begins (May 9), or shortly there-after.

So guys, it looks like you late-August folks will get someting after all. This looks to be a continuation of the spring and summer discounts of course.
