August planners, lets plan together!

We leave two weeks from today!
I woke up WAAAY too early this morning, but I figure it's good practice for how early we have to get up in couple of weeks to go to the airport.
:)

We're two weeks from today, too! We'll be getting up early everyday while we are there for EMH's. Disney is not a "restful" vacation, but FUN!!

We're about 2 weeks out. Rezzies are made, DME vouchers are in hand. The only thing we are debating is whether or not to follow a schedule that utilizes EMH or not....
I'm open to opinions.
For the past 2 years, we've stayed off property and had VERY good luck following the plan to avoid EMH parks. This year, staying at the GF, we're tempted to utilize them, even though the Unofficial Guide says to avoid them even if you are staying on property. :confused3

We've used the emh at ak, just so we could see the safari early, hoping that the crowd would be smaller. We were there last year on July 3rd at rope drop and went straight to the safari and had no wait. Then no wait on the rapids. Have a great time. We've leaving either sat. or sun. but now hitting any parks this time. But hitting all the other things we miss when we're onsite. Can't wait to have a chocolate covered marshmellow from Goofy's.

We are having the same debate at our house. We have been planning to follow the morning EMH park schedule, but now are having second thoughts. We actually sat down and figured out a "Plan B schedule" that doesn't use any morning EMH's. We are leaning towards that plan.

Pro's of morning EMH's: many say that you can get an awful lot done in that hour. Also, the heat is tolerable early.

Pro's of non-morning EMH parks: I suppose UG knows what he's talking about, right? Also, we like to do fireworks at night, and therefore may be tired in the morning for EMH's.

Still deciding...

don't forget you can always go back to your roomand take a nap during the afternoon and then hit the parks at night for the fireworks.

You have a 17 and a 19 year old. I say you hit PM EMH and let them enjoy sleeping in!

I am a huge fan of morning emh, but I only plan on going to 2 or 3 of them this trip, MK,DHS and maybe AK, out of 7 mornings. That will allow us to do most of the attractions with little wait. I am trying to relax and enjoy the trip more this year and not be so worn out...wish me luck:)

The Unofficial Guide guys actually do recommend morning EMH --- IF:
* you know you can get to the park at opening
* you park hop later in the morning after the crowds hit

We're planning on doing a bunch of EMH's (morning) as our girls are 4 and 6 and don't sleep past 7am EVER. Usually 6am!

Well, I got two bags and one carryon fully packed. The list is getting smaller! Doesn't help that DH is away at a conference... but it's only for two more days... and when he comes home, the next morning we're off to FL!!

Yeah, we're pretty much set to go too.

Everything is packed. I just need to mop the floors and vacuum, and to do the online checkin at Jetblue.com . We drop off the dog this evening. Then, at 5 am tomorrow, our ride to JFK should be at the front door!

I can't WAIT!!!

WOOO HOOO... Let's get some excitment going on here please....its been a really rough week and I need some dixie dust/excitment.

My sister just called from the pool at the Polynesian.

She said it's been HOT, but the crowds have been manageable. She also said the ponchos are a MUST-- they've had afternoon showers most days.

So, things are as expected :)

She's got some nerve to call from the pool.

Of course that's something we totally do when we're down there. :rotfl: We've actually called friends while we're in rides - their favorite rides of course, so they can hear the music or feel like they're in the ride with us. One time I called my boss during Wishes because she wanted to 'experience' the fireworks without paying the cost.

Well I'm hoping to start packing somethings tonight. I don't know how some people can pack the week of or the day before - that would make me nuts!!

Ok so technically its 12 days till we are in Disney, but Im going with 10. That is when we are are leaving so Im going with that is how many days I have left!! So Wahoo almost single digits.
We are doing EMH in the early AM each day hopefully since my DD is up early anyway. Then come back for a little pool time then back for our evening ADRs.
So now Im putting up my :banana::banana:since its almost time to go:cheer2::cheer2:

I'm getting excited too. Me and DD17 are packed (DH just pulled out the suitcase for him and DS11). I think this is the first trip I'm packed so early. It's taking off a lot of pressure and stress. Tonight I'm going to get my manicure/pedicure and then tomorrow is our last night at home before we leave on Thursday!!

We're leaving in 9 days, driving through the night Friday night, spending a little time in Destin on the way and arriving in Orlando Saturday night but won't get to Pop until Sunday morning... and we plan on hitting AK bright and early Sunday morning!! so 9 days until we leave but 11 days until we're actually IN DISNEY....:cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:  :cool2: :cheer2:

So where are you staying? Sounds like you're arriving the same day we are (16th)?
