I've been checking every week since March. Finally got a mid-size SUV for a week staring 8/17 for $176 a couple weeks ago. That was with no coupons, only Insider member number. I got the $50 coupon too, which is nice, but the rates are higher again. Last minute deals for later in Aug should be coming out soon. We've used this before to score good rates.

Yes. I made the original reservation about three months ago, and the rate has dropped about 1/2 since then. I am using my Alamo insider's ID, Plus:

On the results page, it shows the SUV rate as $243.40 and the Minivan rate as $618.16 but after you hit the "Select" button, the coupon and rate discounts are applied and the SUV rate is $132.98 for the week and the Minivan rate is $219.91 for the week.

So far the best I found for my dates (August 4-15) 11 days, is $192.35 for a full size with Enterprise. I wanted a minivan, but the best price I got for that is close to $500

Double upgrade (booked compact which upgrades to standard. No standard aisle at MCO so makes this a full size.)
Weekly rental was $70.16 + tax and fees.

I checked rental car rates daily (sometimes 3 or 4 times a day) Started out with a rental around $450 for mid-size but has i kept watching I eventually got down to total of $105.32.

It seemed like the weekends the price went down. I booked the above deal last Saturday morning 10 days out from day of rental.
