August/Late Summer Discounts?

Any intel out there on if/when some Late Summer discounts might be out? We are looking at mid August, and the current promo runs only through July 10. In years past, I feel like we knew by now about late summer discounts - but I am well aware this year is an anomoly. We have already pushed 2 trips back and back and back from our original Covid cancellations, and have one scheduled for June but are also looking at August. We sure do miss our favorite mouse!

I’m wondering too. I think in past years they released new discounts in July for the last half of the year. That’s how it was when I went in 2019.
Since the 50th celebrations start in October hopefully they will let us know soon.

Hmmm....maybe but I thought it was more Aprilish - maybe that is for APs though, I do remember one year (when I was still an AP) I definitely booked an August trip in April but maybe that was out of the ordinary. That was 2017

I was checking historical discounts. Two years ago that timeframe was released on April 24th so hopefully we see something soon.

I know free dining used to be offered in April. I don't expect to see that anytime soon but the current offer is set to expire in early May, so disney should drop something in its place, I think.

The problem is this year is completely different than other years. Limited capacity, not all resorts are open, the 50th anniversary, and Bob Chapek. We can't rely on previous years for an indication of what may happen this year.

I agree it isn't reliable, but it is at least something to consider. Everything else is purely speculation.

I believe (speculation!) that if we don't see a discount this coming Monday or Tuesday, then there is a real chance we might not see one at all for late Summer (or for Fall). Room availability is already low (and demand is high) through the rest of the year.

A couple of caveats to my theory...

• There are ~7,000 rooms that could be made available between POR, POFQ, ASSports and ASMusic. They just announced BWI, but that's the smallest room count (378) for any cash hotel
• Discounts often dropped mostly inside the 180-day ADR window; with that window down to 60 days, the discount window may resize as well

For at least one thing we can, Price increases like Savi's went up 10% and that will not be the last one. Only Disney would have the intestinal fortitude to cut most of what makes WDW well WDW and increase prices at the same time.
