August Hours, any suggestions for evening plans

We are going the last week in August and plan the week heavy on resort pool time and activities, as well as one day in each water park. We usually go in the winter and only get in one or maybe two good pool days.

We have two park days scheduled, originally planned for Monday starting at Epcot and then hopping to DHS from about 4p till closing to catch the Star Wars fireworks. Thursday we have set for the MK.

I was hoping that MK hours would end up getting extended and they would add the evening parade on Thursday but it doesn't look like that is happening. Now my family wants to hop to the MK Monday instead to see the evening parade, and spend Thursday morning/afternoon in MK and hop to DHS for the last few hours.

Any pros/cons. I guess it doesn't really make a huge difference, I just really liked my original plan. :) Plus I will have to cancel our Plaza adr but that's not really a huge deal (but I do like it there).

Any chance they could end up adding the evening parade in the MK after Monday?

Thanks. :hyper2::flower3::scratchin

I wouldn't plan on them adding a parade at this point. You might want to adjust your schedule once you get there according to the weather forecast. Late august usually has a bit more rain then the winter months. Have a great trip.

Thank you, I am not so hopeful for the additional parade. I'm surprised because I did really expect the hours to be longer in the late summer. We'll just wait till we get there and see how it goes. :goodvibes:scratchin:faint:

We are going the same time and were also hoping hours would be extended. 9pm for MK feels too early. We will be hopping to catch the parks with the late night hours as our ADRs and FPs don't usually line up with those places. The one silver lining is I'm hoping that the shorter hours means Disney is expecting lighter crowds. Here's hoping!

Not sure what they will do in MK but make sure you still catch the Star wars fireworks in HS. We just got back and we enjoyed them so much we changed our plans to watch them again. Get a spot in front of the Chinese theater for the best viewing of the projections. It is such an amazing show.

Thanks everyone! The Plaza was still taking adrs back when we booked so I'm afraid they still won't have any openings if we swap nights. That could be good for us in the future! It's okay though, I will just give that up if needed. We definitely plan on the Star Wars fireworks, looking forward to something new. :) I'm still surprised they are closing so early, we used to go during the summer years ago and they were always open much later. Oh well, we'll get more sleep than usual. :cool:
