august flights release prices

We've flown into Tampa this trip and it was much quicker than MCO in terms of time through and bag collections etc. the thing that took the time was car hire collection (yawn). The drive (despite 3 very impressive rain / thunder 'showers' was 1 hour 20 to Orlando x

whoops... should have read that more carefully...20 mins flying time... hee hee! :rotfl:

Just to polish this confusion off, I meant 20 more minutes drive than MCO.

MCO to kissimmee villas 50 mins, Tampa to villas 1:10 according to Google. We'll see :D

Thanks. Yeah I thought it was a bit high still at 650+ pp

Aer Lingus is great but they dont' fly back on a Sunday and I can't change dates as my leave at work is now going to be locked in as the others have planned around my dates.

I was on the United site earlier and some came up for 620 which was the best I've seen so far offering a glimmer of hope. Then I saw alternate airports flying from Belfast were £401. I went to chase DD out of the shower, came back and they were gone! Over £600 again :rolleyes2

Did you clear your cookies? If not try doing that and the price might come back down.

I tried that trick but unfortunately it didn't work. I've actually been clearing cookies daily because I'm doing so many searches every day :lmao:

I'm using 8 websites for searching, checking 6 airlines' own websites and doing each from 2 airports I can fly from. Those cookies need clearing, lol

The Cookie Monster would be your best friend by the end of all those searches! ;-)

Yeah, that's the only thing with Aer Lingus & their limited schedule... If you wanted you could probably add another stop in Boston or JFK & transfer internally with JetBlue but that's maybe a bit too much!
The handy thing with Aer Lingus & any transatlantic flight from Dublin (except maybe 2) is that they pre-clear immigration in Dublin so you just arrive like a domestic flight in the US & there's no big wait in a line after a long flight. :-)

Yes and that is one of the reasons we actually prefer indirect. From Scotland we have to change somewhere in the UK anyway unless you can use the limited seasonal VA schedule from Glasgow which doesn't accommodate my dates anyway. So the way I see it we can only fly indirect. Only difference is where we change: UK or another country. So it makes sense for us. I wonder if I can do anything about our dates ...... :scratchin

Just bumping this a bit. Wondered what my chances are of getting flights for two adults and a 3 year old for under £2000 in August? The dates we're looking at at the moment are 3rd-17th August, preferably flying from Bristol, Birmingham or any London. We'd be willing to go indirect so I'm hoping it would be doable. I know they're not out yet for my dates but is that budget realistic?

MMMMM, would be a real tough call for next August based on this years flight prices.... Flights do normally drop in cost August but from about the mid month onwards you may get them then.. We paid around £1800 in mid August 2012 flying from Heathrow to Miami. Im looking for next August also at the moment and from speaking to Complete Orlando and searching myself I think around £2300 - £2600 maybe the price to pay two adults & 1 child .... :)

I agree, flythomascook have prices for our dates from Manchester and its costing around £2300 for 2 adults and 1 child.

Ive not flown with them before, so not sure about them.
We're waiting until the flights are released by other companies. :)

Ditto 4 us exactly the same... Was hoping to get BA or Virgin for around £2500
