August Crowds

What are the crowds like in late August? We have always scheduled our trips after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. The crowds are very low and I like the decorations, but a little on the cool side to visit the water parks. I was thinking about going the week before the Labor Day holiday. Also, I was wondering why the Deluxe resorts consider this value season, but not the moderates? Are the moderates still booked during the time frame and does this mean the crowds are still pretty heavy?

We were there in mid aug last year and liked it. The crowds were heavier than when we usually go in may but not bad. It rains/storms everyday and that seems to be the best time to visit the parks because most people leave, we just carried some small ponchos used them during the rain.
We stayed at the yc and dd and ds liked sab better than the waterparks. The yc was nice and we couldn't have afforded it, if it wasn't for the value season and a discount code. We were planning on aug this year but couldn't get it scheduled, so we'll be there in may.

Sandy, we went the last week in August last year, and had a great time. The longest line we had for the entire visit was for Splash Mountain in MK, and that was only 45 minutes! We're going a little earlier this year, since we'll be staying for 2 weeks total instead of our usual one, so we'll be there the last 2 weeks of August. I think it'll be okay.
