Very true! It's hard to believe we booked our Baltic cruise almost 16 months ago and now we are down to less than 6 months to go!

Ed as long as you keep posting the weekly count we are good on this thread. :thumbsup2 :surfweb:

i have been thinking about a CD for the cruise..Alaska is very difficult campared to the caribbean. lol.. i guess i have some time to research this

I'm thinking it's the wrong season for Jingle Bells, but it would be appropriate. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Calling for snow here tomorrow. :headache:
I'd rather travel to see snow than for it to travel to see me.

Sorry you got that surprise storm yesterday. I was surprised to see it snowing on the Today show yesterday.

The snow early in the day was bad as it hit at rush hour, then the sun came out later and warmed up, but then going home the cold front came thru and a another storm with blinding snow hit.

we got it coming and going yesterday, Lucky not much snow but enough to be a pain, This morning cold really cold. 15 degrees when I got up

Ed you had a heat wave this morning. When my DH came home from work at 5:45am it was 7 below with the wind chill. When I got up at 7am it was 9, didn't want to know what the wind chill was.

OK...we're in. Actually I'm the only one in currently. We're booking a BtB cruise and this is the first leg. I had to lock in the cabin on board the Magic till I figure out how I'm going to book it DVC points/cash wise. But we're going. My wife, I my son's will be 7 & 3. But then since I only have the deposit on me maybe I'll go solo. Currently being transfered from the Magic to AKV. Guess I'll have to figure it out later.

Hi, we've cancelled our DCL to Alaska.

I have an aunt in Anchorage I've not seen in 40 years. So we've decided to do a one way cruise, and splurge by adding on some land time afterwards to visit with her. We'll miss the magical touches only Disney does - but as we are all getting up in years, it seems smarter to incorporate some time with family.

Wishing you all the best of cruises!

Welcome. I'm sure you'll figure out how to take the rest of your family with you. :rotfl2: :lmao:

Sorry you had to cancel, but totally understand wanting to spend time with family. Have a great cruise and enjoy the time with your family. :grouphug:

We'll miss you! Have a great time on your new cruise and visiting your aunt!

We are ready to book our Disney Cruise to Alaska - first time on the Wonder. We are a family of 5: littles will be 5, 9 and 10. Should we book connecting rooms? Family room? Travel agent? Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

I'm glad you put that disclaimer in. I wouldn't want people to think you were friendly to someone you didn't know. People can get a rep! I didn't run into any of those types on the monorail yesterday, so it doesn't seem like a disease that's catching.

Anyway a word of warning-I know you're all ready to go and all. I'm not sure if it's because of this global warming or the world economy, but you're aware that giraffe populations in Alaska are WAY down, right? I just don't want you to see your dreams dashed.

And for anyone else, I've done 4 Alaska cruises, and a land tour up past Fairbanks. I've seen numerous bears, humpbacks till I got bored with them, orcas once, porpoise, sea otters etc. I have yet to see a Moose that wasn't in a zoo. They're supposed to walk right down main street in these cities. I'm not buying it. Unless they vacation in the summer.

Every case is different. I always book my own trips but for you, maybe talking to a TA to get everything laid out is best.

A little advice I can give: once you're on the ship you're treated the same regardless of cabin...unless you're in a suite.

What I've seen people do personally to limit costs is get two oceans connecting OR a balcony right next to an ocean and split the cabins guys/gals.

I said I'd NEVER do Alaska w/o a balcony yet I just booked a Cat 9. The reason? We just got off the Magic and literally 30 seconds after I opened the door #2 son had the table up to the rail and was climbing. I can't risk it. He had to spend the rest of the cruise climbing the ladder in the closet for the bunks. He's only 1. There are enough places to see things on board.

I've done the 5 in a family room on the wonder. I'd for sure lean in the two rooms/bathroom closet direction so everyone isn't tripping over each other.
