August 9, 2011 (8/9/2011) Taking the Wonder to see the AMERICAN CHILD

So it appears the dis reservation system crashed after midnight & the reservations I was making were lost. By lunch time today there were no Palo reservations available.

Everyone else in the same boat? (Pardon the pun!) But now we just wait until we are on board to make a reservation? ANy other suggestions or tips...

Well up until today, you could only make dinner reservations (for 2-3 and 5-6) and not all nights were available.

Brunch and tea were long gone (not even available at the 90-day mark for silver).

I'm planning on meeting everyone while we are all in line!!!!!

Keep checking online to see if anything opens up. Check again after everyone starts getting documents, about 30 days out, to see if anything opens up then as well.

Well, that does make me feel better. Could you give me some tips on how to do that? Where to go and when? This is my very first cruise and I'm not very knowledgeable about the ins and outs of DCL.

Look at the navigator that they give you when you check-in, it will give a time and a place ,to change dining reservations and make Palo reservations. Go there as soon as you can, just ask any cast member where the place is and you should be able to snag a brunch. Even if you are wait Oates it will more than likely come through because folks switch times and days once they get aboard. Sorry I cannot remember the name on the Wonder but it is either right near where you get on the ship or one floor up. Good Luck on getting brunch, it is fabulous!

After giving up at midnight (site was down) I managed to get on this morning and snag all the excursions I wanted plus a Palo dinner. Yay!!! Thank you all for leaving us newbies some openings.

That's strange...I was able to make my parent's and sister's reservations last night...the site was ok for me... I'll probably check tomorrow just to make sure that everything is OK!

Good thoughts needed for DD17, please! Just found out she has Walking Pneumonia! Both girls are in a show on Thursday with their performing group! 2 hour rehearsal tonight and dress rehearsal tomorrow!

There must be something going around. Matt just got home from 4 months in Disney and one week in Texas. He started running a temperature. Took him to the doctor yesterday and their not sure if it's a sinus problem, tonsillitis or mono. Took blood and left with an antibiotic and nasal spray. Waiting on the blood results. I don't think it's mono because he's really not that tired so hopefully he will start feeling better today after his second dose of antibiotics.

I hope your DD feels better real soon (Matt also had pneumonia when he was 3).

In particular, I want to see the humpback whales bubble-net feeding.

Dave and I love Disney and wildlife too, which is why we were so happy to find out that DCL was going to Alaska! We are doing the Alaskan Wildlife Adventure in Skagway and whale watching in Juneau. I also hope to be able to see humpback whales bubble net feeding. That would be amazing to watch!

We are in the opposite camp. All eight prior cruises had us enjoying Palo in some combination of brunch and/or dinner.

This will be the first cruise where we are not doing any Palo at all! We just decided not to. Sort of a "been there, done that" thing.

Don't get me wrong - we haved loved every meal at Palo!!

Just noticed we aren't on page 1! There are 10 of us over 5 cabins.
9 adults and one teen (15).

All friends and family - 6 have never sailed Disney-2 of the 6 have never sailed. DH and I are gold (one more to Platinum ), DS and DD are Silver.
