We have only 2 days from when we get back to when we live for CA. :earseek:

Boy, was that a Freudian slip or what?? I'm definitely living for Disney these next few weeks! Heading to Hobby Lobby to get some ideas for Disney decorations and stuff for our room...

You mean you guys aren't packed yet???

Sorry....couldn't resist trying to apply a little pressure! ;)

I might get the chance to see Barb in Vegas. Jay and I are going up there with some friends next weekend.
Three weeks from now, I'll be in WDW.......hope those storms die down, darn it!
A little rain there is nice to cool things off, but I've never experienced a hurricane and don't care to.

And.....we had a nice little surprise this week. Jay & I were invited by the New York, New York Hotel & Casino to go on a cruise with a few of their "valued" players. Hey, I didn't make that phrase up, they did.......
Anyway, who could resist a free (totally) cruise and airfare??
Bad news: It leaves the weekend that you all are getting off the ship, so we won't be able to go to Disneyland and meet up. :sad2:
Good news: I saved a bunch of money (not by switching to Geico) by getting our D-Land reservation & airline tix refunded. I'd had to pay way too much for our flights anyway.....and luckily, they were with Southwest, so the funds are reusable.
So, it's a Royal Caribbean cruise, out of Miami, on the Explorer of the Seas. 7 nights....and it goes to Belize, Costa Maya, Cozumel and Grand Cayman. Jay & I were in Belize 16 years ago, so I imagine a lot has changed since then...and have never been to any of the others. And....it's our first trip alone in I don't remember how long. First ever cruise alone.
So the joke is: the pressure is on ME...as far as packing, unpacking, packing, unpacking and packing again. I must be nuts.
So Stacey I guess we're just not destined to meet in person! Sounds too good to pass up to me!

I just dropped Kenney off at his first drivers ed class, so we're soon to be nervous parents with a driving teenager!

Happy Birthday Jenny!!!! :bday:

Eagles concert :rockband: sounds great to me! But then I'm only a year behind you on that 40-something age!

:cake: :bday: :cake: :bday:

Remember early on we said we would be celebrating all kinds of birthdays and early/late anniversaries on this cruise? Our 16th anniversary is Sept. 30th and we have known each other 20 yrs in Sept.

Question: Does anyone know about autograph books at Disneyland? Where you can find them and if there are choices of styles, etc.?

Cathy

Thought I'd share the Thank You notes that I printed out. Stole the idea from Tagrel.com. :rotfl: If anybody would like me to print some for them (with different name/location, of course ;) ), let me know....I have them printed out on textured card stock, perforated, about postcard size, with Mickey, Minnie, Mickey/Minnie, Goofy, Donald, the Disney gang, and Ariel (the one with Ariel says: "Thanks for 'sea-ing' that we had a wonderful time!")

Wow Eve, How do you find time with being a doctor, on call, little kids, etc. So you give those cards to the crew with your tips? That is very nice. I should get something extra to give them. I was thinking it should be something Connecticut maybe. We are the Nutmeg or Constitution state, but that isn't fun. My town is known for maple trees and sugar houses that make maple syrup. Hmmm. :scratchin

Well, actually, my kids are at their grandparents' until next weekend. That's the only way I can take so much call - when they're gone. I pick them up next weekend and then we head for Breckenridge for a week.

I went out and bought a bunch of scrapbooking stuff and I'm starting to put together some things for our door decoration. I googled for door decorations and you won't BELIEVE what some people do to their doors on other cruises. Look at this: http://parrotheadcruise.com/archive/2004/bjones/image134.htm Good grief! It made my eyes bug out! :earseek: I think our door will look more like this one: http://www.daveandhelen.net/VOS2005/cabindoor128.jpg At least there's a ton of Disney clipart available all over the 'net! I bought some of that magnetic printing paper and the creative juices are starting to flow....:rotfl:

Cathy - I bought autograph books on eBay last year for the kids and our trip to WDW - much less expensive and it came with a Disney ballpoint pen. I think I paid about $7 or $8 for both + shipping. Nowadays they make the ones that are spiral bound - much better and easier to write on.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Have had a nice relaxing day and dinner at our favorite Japanese restaurant.

My DDs had the very same question when they asked for gift suggestions :goodvibes ! They asked if they had more than 1 hit song!
I also printed out Tagrel's thank you cards and made some magnets out of them too. Tagrel really has a nice site.

Cathy - There are some very nice, gold autograph books at DL right now to celebrate the 50th. Mickey and Minnie on the cover in their anniversary attire and a gold pen is included. Brynee received one from a neighbor and I think she is planning to take it aboard the ship! The books can be found at World of Disney, the Emporium and most shops in DL and at most shops in DCA and the hotels.

Vickie - Best of luck staying calm while Kenney is driving! I find myself at times doing Lamaze breathing to keep down my anxiety level!

Stacey - Have a great time in Las Vegas and have a fantastic time on your cruise! Belize sounds like a wonderful place to relax - there was a write up in the travel section of our local paper. Do you have any "shouldn't leave home without it" packing tips for us??

I think I have the strangest friends. Had plans to go to a b'day party for my friend tonight and it turned out they threw me a surprise party and my b'day isn't until September. They told me I always know about things and they thought this was the only way to surprise me. It was nice tho.

What a great surprise for you :goodvibes ! They sound like a bunch of wonderful friends!

Sonia (my friend) got off the Magic yesterday and now I have all of the Navigators and some shopping papers to look over. She bought me a colorful tote bag and a pareo from Cabo...that's 2 less items I'll need to shop for on our cruise! She had a great time and just winged it in all of the ports. She already had pictures and mementos arranged in her scrapbook/photo album she bought onboard! If you have any questions about the Navigators/schedules let me know and I'll check it out for you.

Hope everyone has a good couple of weeks and all documents are received in a timely manner. Hopefully I will be able to check in a couple of times while I am on my cross country journey.
Safe journeys to all who will travelling in the next couple of weeks.

Less than 4 weeks to go  :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

:dancer: :cool1: Doc Dancing :cool1: :dancer: !! Now to start getting serious about gathering up what we need to pack ;) . Hope everyone receives their docs soon; it's so close now...we'll be on our way  !

We're still planning on DL for this weekend. I'll be on the lookout for the Mickey ears 50th pin and other dated pins. If you have any requests, just let me know. We're hoping to be able to move around in the park and maybe Brynee will get on Space Mountain!

I (30) am also on the cruise (bringing my father (60) with me since my friends can't afford it :(). This will be our second Disney Cruise. I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed browsing through the threads and how much information I have gotten. It is those little things you find that not everyone knows about that make the trip magical.

My docs arrived yesterday. :cheer2: Which means we are getting close.

Going to DL after the cruise for a few days. From what I hear it sounds like it is a zoo. Dad has not been to DL in over 15 years so it should be interesting.

Bye

Welcome to our thread! There's been a lot of info posted...the most important is our DIS meet on Deck 10 - starboard - at the beginning of the Sail-Away party...please join us!!

If you have any questions, just ask away! There are a few returning cruisers on this cruise. Which deck/cabin will you and your Dad be in??
