August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

Thanks Vickie that's very helpful.

Tomorrow we finally get our new carpet :jumping2: . Then we will finally be able to get the rest of our furniture moved in and even more boxes unpacked :goodvibes . The best part is that we will be able to put up our big Christmas tree :jumping1: .

We finally have :sunny: today. We haven't seen that in days. It's also supposed to be in the low 60's. But they are calling for a few clouds tomorrow and then rain again for Friday and early Saturday :umbrella:  .

Sounds exactly like the weather we're having here! Except our :sunny: was 2 days ago and we're into the rain part!
Vickie

We have rain here today, but an Alberta clipper system is coming in this week so we may get some snow on Monday. I do love a white Christmas! :D

Well we finally decided how we are going to tell the kids about the cruise. I went and bought some nice invitations and searched a website that has sayings for invitations and printed up invitations to join us on a 25th anniversary celebration cruise. They will think the saying is dumb but we thought it was cute. We are going to give them the invitations for Christmas. I thought they came out cute. I also bought some photo ink and photo paper and tried making color copies of my DCL Christmas cards with my printer/copier. They didn't come out too bad. A little grainy but certainly good enough to send out to anyone I may have missed. Of course I'm keeping the last original for me! Sad part about it is that I probably spent more on the ink and paper than I would have geting another 25 when we were on the ship.
Vickie

Vickie, I guess the moderators put sayings and such under the names when they see something good you talked about or a quote. I am only a guest which I don't understand because I am registered and a Bronze sponsor (which went away too).

Your idea to tell the kids sounds so cool. I am not good at keeping vacations a secret, I plan so far ahead. Let us know how it goes after Christmas okay? I still have so much to do. At least tonight I got my work grab bag gift and my husband's too. One more thing checked off.

Cathy :flower:

Vickie, from what I understand they are changing the saying under names from what they used to be. I guess not everyone is being changed at the same time.

We finally got our new carpet last week and the tree is up and almost decorated :Pinkbounc . We have started to move in our furniture, but the rain the last few days has slowed us down greatly.
I really have to get started wrapping gifts. I don't want to wait until late Christmas Eve like I have the last couple of years.

Just bumping us back to page one. Had a horrible day today! Lost my wallet when I was out shopping, cancelled my ATM/Visa was at DMV getting a duplicate license when I got a call that someone had turned it in. Glad I hadn't cancelled the credit cards yet! Someone very honest must have found it because everything was there including the $30! So I guess it wasn't such a horrible day after all!
Vickie

Vickie, sorry to hear you lost your wallet, bot so glad to hear it was found intact. That gives youa good feeling especially for this time of year.

Stacey is almost ready to leave for her cruise, without me  . Have a great trip and looking forward to hearing about all the great things that happened on the Magic. Don't forget to have a few :mickeybar and a few :drinking1 for me please.

I'm feeling a little jealous of Stacey, but hope she has a great time! Which I'm sure she will!
Vickie
Vickie, I'm jealous of Stacey and all the other DISer's on the 10 day cruise too. I wish we didn't have to cancel out on that one. But, we are still going on this one and it will be loads of fun :bitelip: .

Although I doubt they are reading our thread today, they will see it when they get back perhaps. I should put it on their thread too.

I bet the Magic is totally decorated to the hilt like the White House! Do they try to do other denominational things too or would they have done Hanakkuh during the cruises when it was actually Hanakkuh? They must have crew members who are Muslim, Jewish, Christain, Atheist, etc. Even if I wasn't Christain I think I would still love the decorations, most aren't religious in nature.

I like being home for Christmas because I love this time of year. I like to cruise at another time of year to add some joy then too. If I did it all at once the rest of the year would be depressing. Ideally it would be nice to cruise twice a year like Stacey is and have the best of both worlds! I can't wait till she comes back and tells us about it.

Cathy

Sure do hope everyone is having warmer weather than we are right now. It's 18°, very windy and snowing :earseek:

It is snowing in CT today, no school so I am working from home. I am lucky to be able to access our LAN and Mainframe from home, I can access my work email from here too.

Glad our office holiday lunch is tomorrow and not today... :D

I had to go back to work yesterday :sad1: It went fine, but was an easy day for me - I was on phones so I got to sit most of the day. Today will be a different story. I really enjoyed being off once I was feeling good! It felt good to go back to work without the pain I was having before though.
It's been foggy in the morning here followed by cool sunny days (in the 50's) but I have to say I would love to spend one Christmas in the snow! Inside, of course where I would be able to stay warm!

Glad it went well the first day Vickie, hopefully they will let you sit more if you need to.

I guess everyone is busy with the holidays and not surfing, Stacey is off cruising. I was over on their thread reading the posts from shipboard, pretty cool! I can picture the whole thing now that I've been onboard, but I wish I could see how they decorate for the holidays.

I have to clean and grocery shop today, we are having my husbands' brothers over this evening for Christmas Eve, my parents are coming tomorrow for dinner and to sleep over a few nights. On Sunday we have my family over (two sisters, one brother, spouses, 5 grandkids, my parents). My DH is the chef (and he has some cool appetizers planned) but I still have a lot to do.

Have a great holiday everyone!

Cathy :grouphug:

Merry Christmas Eve.

It's been a busy week. Need to finish cleaning today. Tonight we are going to my brother's house along with my parents and tomorrow they are all coming over here for dinner. But the big night for us this year will be Tuesday, so far we have about 20 people coming over for a casual get together. This year we are doing things completely different, in the past we have always spent most of the holiday at my parent's house - they get a break this year.

We are going to my BIL's tonight and I'm cooking tomorrow. Won't be a large crowd here though, I really don't have much family on my side (especially in the close area) and DH's side is getting to be smaller get togethers as the neices are married and have their own in laws to go to. I'm only expecting 7 for dinner. Makes it easy though!
Have a great Christmas!
