August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

Vickie, I also got my 2 Disney pieces from the auction today. We even hung one up a couple hours after being delivered. The other piece, a Belle sericel, arrived earlier this month on my b'day. That one set a record for us and was hung up within 15 minutes of being delivered :Pinkbounc  .

Congrats on post #500 :cheer2:

Vickie and Barb, It must be exciting to get your auction pieces, like getting a present in the mail! We hang things up very quickly too, whenever we moved to a new apartment or house people always said it looked like we lived there a long time because their are pictures and things on the walls. There could be tons of unpacked boxes, but things are on the walls (LOL).

Friday was our 16th wedding anniversary, Steve brought me 2 dozen roses (red and yellow), they look so pretty.

I went to a friend's son's wedding this weekend and sat with other people who like cruising. I was talking up Disney even for people without kids, they may give it a try. :earsboy: We also got one of the centerpieces with roses and glass candle holders. Between that and my other roses it is very beautiful in the house right now. :daisy:

Hi Everyone, just bumping us back to page one! :wave2:

Hi Vickie! How is school going for your kids? What grades are they in now?
How about everyone else's kids? Jessica tells me it is Quarter 1 mid-term grade time, she gets a progress report soon. She is in 9th grade and so far is liking high school, especially the social aspect of it.

My sister's ex-husband and his wife had a baby yesterday, a little boy. Now my niece who is almost 12 has two half brothers (one is my sister's 3 1/2 yr old). :Pinkbounc

Hi Cathy! Kenney is is 11th grade and Sara is in 7th. They are both liking their classes and teachers so far.
Wick's sister is here from Reno for the weekend and its fleet week in San Francisco so we're going to San Francisco tomorrow and doing a lunch cruise on the bay and we will be out there to watch the Blue Angels fly. We've done the same cruise twice before and its a lot of fun.
Have a great weekend!

Hi All.... :wave2:
Alexa and I just got back a little bit ago from Atlantic City for the long weekend. We went with my parents. We had a great weekend, even with all the :umbrella: and fog.

Hello everybody
This is Kazu.
Long time no see.

We went to Hongkong DisneyLand last weekend.
It was fun.

It's nice to hear from you Kazu.
I'm glad to hear you liked Hong Kong Disneyland. Your picture from there is very nice.

Hey Kazu, Glad you got to go to Hongkong Disneyland. I see you are doing a 7 night Eastern Caribbean, I assume that is Disney Cruise Line? We will go again in 2007 but I don't know when yet.

Barb - Atlantic City sounds fun, I was remembering how we went to Ogunquit, Maine last Columbus Day weekend. This year we didn't go anywhere, but I took today off (no school for Teacher workshop). Jessica and I went shopping for bedding for her birthday (Nov 20th) and to get black pants for her choral uniform. It was so nice and empty at the mall today!

She had her physical and then she got bangs (longer side-swept ones). I'll post a picture sometime. She wanted a small change, nothing too drastic.

Cathy

Hi Kazu! I enjoyed your picture!

Eve, I just got home from Dream Dinners. Made 6 dinners in an hour! We'll try one tomorrow, hopefully they'll be good! I'm really glad you mentioned Super Suppers or I wouldn't have known anything like that existed, I had fun making the dinners now I just hope the family likes them!

Vickie - Seth and I were in SF last weekend at a medical conference (hospital paid - it was nice; we stayed at the Hyatt Embarcadero) and we were there watching the Blue Angels too! Gee, we didn't run into each other....imagine that. LOL. It sure was crowded.

I'm working this weekend.... :guilty:

I hope they like it too. What sorts of dinners did you make? I'm scheduled for our next SS on the 27th.

I made a pot roast, honey garlic chicken with seasoned rice (which we ate and it was delicious),pork chops dijon with rice, carribean pork roast, buffalo chicken breasts and beef and cheese enchiladas. I hope they are all as good as the one we ate already. We're having the pot roast tomorrow.
Too bad we missed you in SF last weekend! Like if you could have seen anyone in that crowd!
I'm off to a huge quilt show today!

Mmmmmm...yum! I think I would love the honey garlic chicken too. We had pot roast from Super Suppers last month and it was a TON of food - very good. Did you get any fish?:fish: We have had tilapia the last 2 months which were both very good - even Seth thought so although he's not a fish person. The only things that I haven't really cared for are the dishes that are tangy like the Tango chicken and the sausage/rice which was surprisingly tart. Otherwise, we've really liked everything that we have had.

I never realized how GORGEOUS SF is in October. When we were there last, we didn't spend a whole lot of time in downtown SF as we were staying in San Jose and really wanted to get up to Sonoma. There is so much shopping and eating to do - I'm so jealous! We ate at the Palomino which was YUMMY! Even better that it was free - lol! :cool1:

So what's everyone doing for Halloween? Amina is going to be a hippy chick (I REALLy need to get her costume made this weekend) and Rhys can't decide if he wants to be a ninja or a power ranger. I commented to Seth as I rolled my eyes why Rhys can't be something that doesn't involve a weapon of some sort. LOL.

I was never good at making costumes, I tried once when Jess was 2 and made her a Baby Bop costume (Barney). She was too young to remember it but I got very stressed. She puts her own costumes together now, she is going to a party (no more trick or treating - hurray). Here is can be cold or rainy and miserable and the kids don't want to wear coats. Warm climates are better for it.

Our rain is finally over I think, it has been raining for 8 or 9 days straight and we got 14 inches! We saw a little sun today and we appreciated it so much more.

The only fish dish that was on the menu didn't sound that good to me so I didn't make it.

October is one of our best months! We usually have very little rain and the weather is usually somewhat warm. We usually have our "Indian Summer" and sometimes it is our warmest month of the year but this year it hasn't been real warm, just pleasant.
Tuesday is our 25th anniversary. Even though Wick said we were celebrating it on the cruise he made plans for us to take a hot air balloon ride in Napa on Tuesday morning. We are going to go Monday evening and spend the night because we have it be there for the balloon ride at 6:30 am and it's at least a 2 hour drive. Hopefully the weather stays nice because they will cancel if the weather is bad.

My kids haven't even mentioned Halloween yet. Last year all of the kids on our block got together and all of the boys dressed as girls and all of the girls dressed as boys. It was pretty frightening how good Kenney looked as a girl!
Vickie

Vickie your dinners sound good. What day and time should we all be at your house for dinner?!? :teeth: :rotfl2:
That sounds like a nice way to spend your anniversary. I will think good thoughts that you have wonderful weather.

Cathy, Jessica's bangs look nice.
We also saw the sun today for the first time in 8 or 9 days. It was nice, I even had the windows open for most of the day.

Alexa still have a few of her braids in from the cruise. We are slowly taking them out as she has school pics in 2 weeks. This is the longest she has kept them in and the ones left still look pretty good.
Alexa has a couple of things in her closet that she can put a costume together, so I'm not sure what it will turn out to be. She will be trick or treating with the kids behind us so that will be something different for her. She has always gone as a lone child.

Hi everyone. How is your autumn? The leaves are pretty but I think with all the wind and rain a lot have fallen too soon. I hear there is a chance we could get some of Hurricane Wilma here, I hope it goes to sea south of us.

Cathy

Page 3 and I was the last one to post over a week ago... This is depressing :sad1:

It is getting :cold: here! I miss the cruise. I got an email from Cruise Critic telling me the Mexican Riviera is the cruise destination right now. We were ahead of the times! :earboy2:

Anything exciting going on with anyone? Jessica had a concert last night with her Chamber chorus. They all wear black pants and tuxedo shirts with black bowties. The boys got to add a glittery vest and the girls were jealous.

She got a part in the Drama Club production of "The Crucible" (an accused witch Sarah Good). Doesn't sound like a fun musical but she is happy about it.
