August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

A Post-Cruise TOP :Pinkbounc

Brynee and I got home at 1:00 this afternoon
and after unpacking and doing some laundry it is now 9pm and I'm hungry...where is my iced tea with limes and my appetizers, salads etc??

Thanks Stacey for all of the good wishes. Brynee and I enjoyed our massages at the Krystal Resort and we had fun riding with Randi. Most of the other riders were from the Carnival Pride so it was nice to compare stories with them. Brynee learned to barter on the beach and was thrilled with her purchases. She enjoyed hanging out and about with Jessica and Alexa...she wasn't able to get to know Sara as well as we had 2 tables for dining. The DIS group was a fantastic group of really nice people!!

The highlights for Brynee were winning the Mickey Mania game show and dancing in the Talent Show! Such fun memories for the both of us! Palo High Tea with Barb and then Palo Brunch with Stephanie,a tablemate I met the day before, were highlights for me! Sharing the Palo experience was great!!

I was sad to leave the ship today! Saying good-bye to all of our new friends, the cast members and crew was hard! Hopefully, we'll continue to keep in touch via the Thread!!

Oh, Jenny...thanks so much for checking in. Makes me sad just to hear about how hard it was for you to leave!
How was your weather?
Cabo is very clean and pretty, isn't it?

How I wish I could have been there!

I bet those who stayed are having a blast at Disneyland.

Hello Every one
This is KAZU.

We safely arrived at home.
We were glad to meet you.
We will embark to the Magic again next August.

Please give the report to us if you come to Tokyo some day.

We always welcome you.

Thank you.
See you again.

Hi everyone, we arrived home at 2am Eastern time on Sunday after a long day of traveling. Sorry we couldn't share the last breakfast with you but we were glad they put us on the early leaving list. I thought the check in and security at LAX were slow compared to other airports, but they were thorough. Our highlight there was seeing Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner getting out of a Yukon SUV and talking with their driver and a traffic officer. I was able to snap a photo of them. Jennifer had on a clingy tank top so you could see her "bump" as they call it.

Our trip highlights were relaxing and enjoying the pampering. Jessica's was hanging around with Brynee and Alexa, seeing late movies and shows. We loved the talent show and got Brynee on video (no sound) on my camera. She is a very talented dancer! Thought that last girl who sang an Ariel song from Little Mermaid was very good too.

Cabo was very hot (as were all ports), but our Land's End cruise was nice and air conditioned too.

Glad to see Kazu and family for the group photo and the other DISers. We rebooked for Thanksgiving 2006 for now, but will move it to 2007 later. Next summer we are joining a group if friends who had planned a Princess cruise in Caribbean out of NYC (no flying - hurray)

Cathy

Hi Cathy - Please tell Jess that Brynee thinks it's "cool" that you were able to see Ben and Jen. "Alias" is one of our favorite shows! Also, thanks again for the souffle! I really did enjoy getting to know you, Steve and Jess. Jess is such a sweet girl princess: !

 Check your billing statements! At Lumiere's I was charged for a bottle of wine and a cappuccino - I think Nazim got mixed up on his stateroom numbers! I waited 20 minutes at Guest Services prior to breakfast to get it straightened out and then they said it could only be changed at Lumiere's! I am trusting that it was done or will deduct the amounts from my Disney Visa bill. Other than that, everything else looked OK - except for the Total :rotfl: We really did stay within budget and our Disney Visa Rewards money covered the Art that Brynee won at auction!

:earsboy: Barb, Jay and Alexa should be enjoying DL right now...hope it isn't too crowded or hot for them! As for me, I've finished laundry and returned the white noise machine that I didn't need to use - our host was able to put an air purifier in the room which had the same noise effect. Also, returned Brynee's suitcase as the telescoping handle jammed - this was her first time using the piece - the housing had been crushed during disembarkation! Was disappointed that it wasn't very sturdy; especially as we tried to roll it through the terminal to our shuttle stop and then into Mervyn's this morning :sad2: !

Hope everyone else is getting back into real-life mode. I'm trying to get psyched for work tomorrow!

Hi Everyone - checking in here....

We had so much fun meeting all of you! If you can believe it.....we left the ship yesterday morning and arrived at LAX at around 10 am. We just got home this morning! Long story..... I'll post more when my life gets back in order. I finished up my journal/trip report this afternoon - it's over 10 pages long! The pics are downloaded, we're unpacked, the laundry is almost done. I have to get psyched for work tomorrow too.... More later ~

Wow....you guys are amazing! Laundry done....pics.....I'm impressed! And I can't wait to hear more about it all! I want to see some of the pictures, if possible.

Jenny, we need white noise too, it is so quiet where we live I can't sleep. In the summer we have the air conditioner noise, in winter the humidifier. I was okay on the ship, didn't think to get a machine (where do you get them?). I couldn't stay awake on the ship with the rocking, anytime I sat down to relax I got sleepy.

Cathy

Hi Cathy - I bought the "sleep sounds" machine at Bed, Bath and Beyond - $20. The white noise machines on the internet were close to $50 and I didn't know if we would really need them so I went with the model at BB&B. When we got to our stateroom, there was a beautiful floral arrangement from our TA - but, Brynée is extremely allergic to flowers so we gave them to the woman who had been on the Sheraton shuttle with us - she was in cabin 5000...the stateroom host then brought us the air purifier and we had it running whenever we were in the stateroom.

I survived working out at 5 this morning and then a full day of work! I didn't have computer access at 3 of my 5 schools so I did a lot of driving to get what I needed done. Gas is now close to $3/gallon and my car uses premium  . I hope you were able to make it to work...you didn't need a sick day??

We just walked in the door after a very delayed flight home. Saw Barb, Jay and Alexa for a bit at California Adventure today. Plan on meeting with them for dinner Friday night when they are in Oakland, hope it works out!
We had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone. Wish our dinner tables were closer so we could have talked more with Cathy and Jenny!
Weather was good for DL, overcast and 70's! Not hot and uncomfortable! SOOOO crowded on Saturday though!
I guess I better go sort through luggage. I'll check in tomorrow while doing laundry!
Vickie

Welcome home, Vickie!!! Glad you had fun!

Tell Barb hi if you see her in Oakland!!

Lets see if I remember how to post a picture! A lot of us got together for a picture, there were more that we met throughout the week but weren't in the picture. Of course MY son was not in the picture, was he even on the cruise????

Oh, wow..... how nice....thank you so much!! Look how tall Alexa has gotten! I almost didn't recognize her. Wow. Did you just go to the lobby and tell the photgrapher you wanted a group photo, or did you set that up ahead of time? Very nice!!

We just grabbed some unsuspecting CM passing by and handed him about 10 cameras! That was the picture with my camera!

LOL....we did that to some poor guy in WDW! Too funny. But the CM did a great job!

Also we had a picture taken by the photographer of the 16 of us who had dinner ressies linked. Our Palo picture did not come out (was never found) so they offered to send a photographer to dinner the last night to take a picture of us. Only problem was we were not dressed up the last night and we were not holding the Happy Anniversary plate.

But anyway we had him take a group picture. If I figure out how to scan it and post it I will (my son is even in that one! Don't ask, we rarely saw him the whole cruise, called him "Phantom Kenney")

Jenny, Sara was so clingy and shy this cruise, so different than last year. She only went to the Lab once. She did enjoy getting to know Alexa, they were the same age and just hit it off right away but she wouldn't even go to the Lab with her or spend any time with her when we were not there. Just going through an unusual phase I guess because she was sure not herself but she did have a great cruise. She had a lot of fun with Amina at dinner too.

Oh Vickie - That explains everything! I wondered why Alexa was always so independent and we would see her everywhere but thought maybe Sara was just being shy around the older 2 girls. I'm sorry we didn't get to talk to you, Wick, Eve and Seth more! I had thought about switching seats with Kenney occasionally but since he didn't show up for dinner very often, didn't want to spoil your family time! The picture came out great! I need to download mine to a webhost and learn to post.

OK I scanned the picture the photographer took the last night at dinner, lets see how it comes out.

And notice all 16 of us are in the picture, including Kenney!
Vickie

I can't show that picture to Jordan! She would really be upset that she "missed the boat" if she saw Kenney.

Another great picture!!
