Jenny - We are staying at the best western and using their cruise package. I wanted to stay at the Sheraton. But i never could find a phone number to call and get the price. I know it's a personal question, but can you tell me how much you are paying for the one night and parking??? If it's cheaper I will switch hotels if it isn't to late. Yes, in regards to your other question. I think we are heading over to the pier early. I don't think we will be able to sit in our hotel room very long. :) .

The # I have for the Sheraton: 888-890-9888 or 310-519-8200
We are paying approx $160 for a club level room with valet parking. The lowest price stay/sail packages were booked and this was the next available for about $10 more; it's supposed to include a bottle of wine :teeth: ...I'll probably just carry it onto the ship.

We are also having a dr/dentist week here as well as a hair appt and we have to get hair/nails done too! Don't know what time we'll leave on Friday but we'll probably shoot for morning as Friday afternoon traffic around LAX is horrendous! I'm still trying to finalize a time for our massages at Krystal Resort in PV. The internet price for a 75 minute massage is $30!! Randi from Randi's Happy Horses e-mailed to say to expect hot weather in Mazatlan. The tour with Frank sounds good but I don't think we get back in time from Stone Island to do a city tour. We just plan on enjoying the empty Magic in the afternoon.

Bubbles are packed! Hope everyone has a safe trip to the port!!

The only thing I can think of is the meet on Deck 10 Starboard at Sailaway, look for each other at the port in various attire (one family in blue, we may actually be in Lime green or maybe just DH with me and my DIS button). He bought a bright green shirt, not sure if it is lime but I told him to wear it on Saturday. Kazu's 14 yr old will be in a wheelchair and they are a family of 5 from Japan.

We will be wearing our Royal Blue Disney 50th Anniversary T-shirts along with our Mickey Mouse's Golden Ears hats. There are 4 of us. :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

See you at the Sailaway!:boat:

I need help you guys, I have a little dilemma. I had assumed (I know never assume) the dress I was planning on wearing to Palo would fit me. Well last night I tried it on and its too big! My whole bra shows under the arms. So my dilemma is do I: try to alter the dress; go shopping for another dress; wear a shorter less fancy dress; wear a nice pair of black slacks with a dressy top; wear the same dress as semi formal night (the next night's theme according to the schedule I have).
Any suggestions from any of you who haven't left yet.
Vickie

Vickie, what a nice dilemma to have at this stage in the game of packing. I think I would wear either nice pants and a top or a short dress. I'm sure you will see all varying degrees of attire on the ship so wear what is comfortable.

Vickie - What a great dilemma. I would wear the shorter dress to Palo's and then pack the black pants and dressy top for semi formal night. Unles you think the black pants and dressy top is more dressy than your shorter dress. Did you get all that? I 'm not sure if I did and I was the one who typed it? :) I'm personally wearing my little black dress to formal night and Palo night, then I'm wearing a less fancy black dress to semi formal night. (Only if I can fit into it on Thursday night with all this good food :goodvibes ) I hope this helps!!!!!

Courtney

Vickie - If you are trying to save luggage space, just go with the same semi-formal dress. You'll be wearing it to 2 different dining rooms, plus, I won't see it on Wednesday so I'll have a chance to see it on Thursday ;) ! I just wouldn't go through the expense and anxiety of having the dress altered quickly. Whatever you decide, you'll be fine!

OMG - I was up until 1 am this morning packing and I haven't put a thing in the suitcases yet. I did drag them down from the attic (the really BIG ones) and everything is laying on the dining room table and all over the living room floor. We've abandoned leaving for the city tonight - we still have way too much to do. I can't cancel the hotel room - it's too late. Just going to have to suck it up....

I'm working today and have a meeting this afternoon 'til who knows when. This means we have to leave home tomorrow morning at 4 am to get to the airport for a 6:50 am flight!

To make matters worse, our Au Pair just told me this morning that she is leaving for Connecticut tomorrow morning for a week. She was going to stay home and keep an eye on things - the dog, the cat, the fish, pick up the mail, etc. I'm sooooo irritated right now. Now I have about 20 more things I have to do before leaving tomorrow.:sad2:

Welcome back Barb - we missed you!

Personally, Vickie, if I had the time and was in your situation, I'd use it as an excuse to go shopping! ;)

Vickie

I like the previous suggestions, I just wanted to thank you for reminding me, I had totally forgotten about clothes for Palo night. I am glad I am not the only one wearing a lot of black. I have a black dress and a black pants suit. I think the pants suit looks dressier, I haven't decided which is for which night. I have another skirt and top for another night too (top is black too).

I have to go upstairs and try things on right now and stop goofing off on the computer! :teeth:

Cathy

Thanks for all of your help everyone. I think I will just not do any altering and forget about shopping and probably wear the same as semi formal night. Anyone who sees me at Palo just pretend you've never seen the dress before on semi formal night.
Vickie

Vickie that sounds like a good idea. You may see me in the same clothes too. But then who will remember what everyone was wearing after we get off the ship. All that matters is that we have a great time and stay safe and sound :Pinkbounc  .

Since I can't do any packing now until DH goes to work I think I will look thru my documents and fill out what I can for DD and myself. That will get me in the reality that we are actually going on the cruise this Saturday :bounce: . I still can't believe after all this time and planning it's actually going to be here and over with before we know it.

I am on a roll now I think. I keep switching things around in our carry-ons and suitcases. It is like a puzzle, what fits where the best. DH gave me all his dress up clothes last night, today he will give me all his casual daytime clothes. It is always more than I thought it would be to fit it all in. DD is pretty much packed. I have to get my casual stuff together now. DD slept over at a friend's house last night because the friend will be on vacation when we get back so they won't see each other for awhile. We have to get to bed early tonight if possible to get some sleep.

Look at my counters!! I can't believe it is finally here! :Pinkbounc :bounce:  :cool1:

Have a great trip Cathy, see you Saturday

I know Cathy, I don't think any of us can believe its finally here (almost for some of us)! Have a safe trip!
See you Saturday!!!!!!
Vickie

Had to get on to check which night's were which for attire. We are doing Palo on Thursday which is semi-formal (if it remains the same as other cruises) so one outfit will do. DH's suit and blazer take up so much room in the garment bag suitcase. I don't really have a tropical outfit, but if we get a lei (spelling? the Hawaiian flower necklace) it will look better.

Okay, back upstairs to pack some more. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Cathy

Cathy - Have a great time at DL and see you on Saturday! Hope Jess enjoys the parks and shopping! Brynee said she and Jess have been IMing each other.

Vickie - I think your family and Brynee and I will be the only ones at dinner on Thursday! Good choice to take only the one semi-formal outfit!

I still have to iron and then will pack the dressy clothes on Friday morning before we head to San Pedro. It's exciting!!

I just happened to look at my online reservation yesterday and saw that our dining time has changed to 6pm! We were waitlisted for early dinner, but I wasn't counting on getting it so I planned our Swim with Dolphins in PV for 2pm...and it ends at 5:30! Yikes! I think that's Pirate Night so we'll look like we've walked the plank at 6pm!!! pirate: The CM I talked to suggested I try back today to see if we can get an earlier excursion time since they are all sold out...hopefully someone is able to switch. We didn't reserve any other excursions, but Mazatlan Frank's city tour sounds good although I don't know if DD will endure it.

I haven't found any lime green to wear on Saturday, so I'll probably be in my red Mickey t-shirt, but Rebeca says she'll wear her lime green t-shirt and save the Disney t's for onboard.

Eve, good luck dealing with the added chores this week...just keep in mind that we'll soon be leaving the worries behind!

See everyone on Saturday! :cool1:

Dolores

I finally decided that I will wear my Mickey Mouse tee shirt on Saturday. It is one that I bought at Disneyland over springbreak. It looks like one of the vintage Mickey Mouse shirts and it's blue. I will let you know now when you see me I look like I am 18 - 20 years old with a man who is in his mid 30's, however I am turning 30 very soon. So you won't think that's not her she's to young. :confused3 Let me go, my lights just went out and my battery back up for the computer is about to go out. Talk to everyone later!!!!

Jess mentioned she was IMing Brynee when our power went out last week for 24 hours. I wasn't sure if she ever explained to her why she abruptly signed off in the middle of their conversation...

I think I need to start packing either tonight or tomorrow, especially since we leave very early Friday morning.
I had my EMG today and it's not carpel tunnel like my ortho thought, it's nerve damage in my neck. I will need to see a neurosurgeon when we get back. Now I have to find a good one and make an appointment.
So now I won't be wearing my arm brace at the port, a bit harder to spot in the crowd. We are all wearing D'land shirts, mine is a pink v-neck one with Tink on the left side, DD is wearing a D'land 2005 shirt and we need to figure out which one DH is wearing. I'm saving my lime green tank for one of the Mexican ports, maybe Mazatlan since we are doing the excursion with Frank and there are other DIS'ers on that one.

Off to find my ressie for Friday night and see which hotel we are staying at in Long Beach :confused3
