August 29th, 2009--Eastern Magic...Let's Get it Started!

I don't know if anyone mentioned this already or not, but is this cruise sold out? I don't see it coming up as an option online, nor the 8/15 Eastern, but thought it was a little odd that neither of the Westerns are sold out, including the one this Saturday. Anyway, just wondering if we'll be on a full ship or not. We've always sailed on it full so I was sort of hoping this one wouldn't be just to get some extra pool space!

I just called DCL to find out that our docs were sent yesterday and will be sent to the office. I should get them by Monday or so. YAY!!! Seems more real when you get the package in the mail.

Let's think positive:thumbsup2 All of the cabins may be booked but that doesn't mean that the ship is at full people capacity.

For example, I am staying in two connecting cabins that have capacity for 8 due to the pull down beds, but we have a party of six. And another member of my party is traveling alone in a cat 11 that can hold up to 4 people.

So hopefully you will get in some quality pool time:)

Joe

Last cruise we went on the pools always seemed full, but the ship was no where near full, can't imagine what they will look like on this one. My kids were so busy with the clubs last time, no one really did much swimming, except the first day. We have a pool at home and since it is still summer, hopefully it wont be a big draw for them this time either!

We are coming down a week early and I still have one day left on our passes to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. Plus we have about five pools at the time share.

They will probably be pooled out by the time we get the ship. The last time that we went on the Wonder they didn't even ask to go to the pool. They said the Goofy pool looked like a big bath tub:rotfl2:

We are at the Radisson 2 days before the trip, so I hope they use the pool there and forget the ones on the ship. I think my pool at home is as big as the goofy pool! :rotfl:
Joe are you flying down on US Airways? I'll alert dh to take special care of your plane that day!

You know, that Mickey pool seems to draw my kids to it like a magnet. I don't get the appeal cause it's tiny and shallow, but they love it. We don't have a pool but we belong to one and I literally have to force my kids to go a couple of times a week. Yesterday I had the bag packed and in the car and when I picked them up from camp I heard tons of complaints so we came home instead. But on that ship they want to be in that pool-in fact, the only way we got my daughter out of the club last time was with the pool.

We will be in WDW the week before the cruise and since it will be hot and humid there and I'm pregnant, I have planned for pool time most afternoons, so there is the hope that they'll like the CBR pool so much that they won't care about the Mickey pool, but I think those are slim chances.

Either way I don't really care much, whether it's full or not, but it's always like a game to watch 2 kids in that pool when it's packed with kids so I was thinking this might be my chance to have it a bit easier, but doesn't seem that way!

Hey, that's not fare I should have been first since I booked back in December of 2007

.....I live in Europe and I got it before you did?:rotfl2:

See you soon!!

I have been wondering how full the ship will be too. Did the pool only on the first day and port afternoons last time (4 night) and plan to do the same this time. I agree that a pool wont be as big a draw this time with it being summer (versus Feb and we live in MI!). We did do the goofy pool one night after dinner (not sure what time) and we were only ones there, that was fun for the kids :)

I know when I did an availability check for our cruise several months ago almost all categories came up if I put in two adults, but if I tried to add a kid or two, I got nothing. That was before the final payment deadline though, and I know a lot more opened up then... but I would still anticipate having lots and lots of kids on this cruise.

Thankfully we don't do the pools on the ship either. ;)
DS will be sad if the sports deck is always uber-crowded, but the pools; no biggie.

I finally got FE stuff ordered (now I just have to hope shipping is quick-ish) and I got our airfare and our pre-cruise hotel bookings done, so the trip is feeling more real. Maybe too real... the family calendar is absolutely packed from now until we leave. I'm really going to need this vacation!

I found the same thing a few weeks ago. I tried to finding a room with two adults and two kids, and nothing came up. However, if I just searched for a room with two adults (no kids), rooms did come up. I assume this can only mean our sailing is "at capacity" for children. Not sure what that means for overall cabins, however...

I tried today for just 2 adults, like others have said, our cruise and the eastern on the 15th are both looking like they are sold out, nothing shows for 2 adults except the Western right before ours, and even that one was only showing a couple of cat's. Hope everyones ok with their rooms, doesn't look like they'll be much of a chance of upgrading at the port, although we have no idea of what is booked cat 1-3.

Has anyone besides our European cruisemates gotten their papers yet? Still waiting for ours. Got our DW papers last week and we get to DW 5 days before the cruise. Getting antsy for my vacation!!!!!!:goodvibes:yay:

No cruise docs for me yet -- I can't wait either! It really does seem so much more real when the docs arrive.

As for the ship being full, I have been on full ships before and truly they don't put more people on than they can accommodate . . . and luckily I booked the cabin I wanted, so I'm fine with no chance of an upgrade.

Waltworshiper: We will be at the Radisson Thursday and Friday night also. I was going to stay at La Quinta but finally made up my mind for the Radisson. We're going to Grill's Thursday night for dinner to watch the Wonder leave. Maybe we will see you there. I have 2 teenage boys and an 11 year old, so watch for us and we can make introductions!

To Fellow FE Participants, does anyone have any allergies that we should know about before preparing our FE surprises (e.g. nuts etc.)?? If so, please send me a PM...
