We are finally coming! However my DH is not able to come so it's just me, DD 13 and DS 10. I am a little(very) nervous to go alone but here we come!!!

I do have a question. I have not made plane/transfer to and from the port reservations yet. I know it's late but... Any suggestions as to what would be the best way to do this? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard Lynda!

You basically have three options to get to and from the port from the airport - DCL transfers, which are expensive but no hassle; private car pick up and drop off, probably about the same price as DCL transfers for three people but sometimes less for 4 or more; and rental car, which can be the least expensive by far but involves a little more effort getting to the car rental place at the airport, waiting for the rental shuttle, etc. I have done all three, and if price is no objection I would probably say go with the DCL transfers since they will take your luggage for you at the airport and deliver it straight to your cabin (and vice versa at the end of the cruise). If you want to save money, I have done the rental car thing successfully many times. There is a lot more detailed info on the main DCL board FAQs thread.

We booked a cat 4, our TA and disney said that we may not get our number until 30 days prior to cruise because we booked under the kids sail free PIN

I didn't know our cruise qualified for the kids sail free program.

IMHO take the DCL shuttle from the airport to the ship. Less work with two kids sans DH.


I see you've stayed at WL, we're staying there for the first time. Did you like it? Did you stay CL? Any reviews?

Hi Michele,
Yes, we've stayed at the WL a few times concierge and absolutely loved it. The food is amazing, I love the hot oatmeal for breakfast, their hot appetizers and soup for evening (the corn chowder is delicious!) and the hot dessert-apple or berry cobbler. The atmosphere is great and soooo relaxing. I would wake up early before everyone else and just sit in concierge looking out toward the pool and lagoon. Really wonderful. They always have fun things going on at the pool. Overall a very peaceful atmosphere. We really love it. I hope you have a great time.

What is the best way to use 2 table services for the Artist Point? Should I order off of the kid's menu and give my 2 table services to my parents? I'm 13, so if anyone has any ideas, that would really help, Katie

If your parents are on the plan it will not matter You will both have to use 2 TS for dinner.

Let's see....

I hopefully finished all the FE stuff today (had to make a few extras)
Printed luggage labels for the last night.
Started packing FE gifts and other stuff into luggage.
Packed the girls surprise stuff.
Typed out the list of directions for the person taking care of our house.
Checked everyone in on line. (still need to print)


Still need to get form notarized from DDF parents stating that we have their permission to have their daughter with us.
Iron on last few decals for outfits.
Get tip envelops ready.

I'm sure there is other stuff I will need to do closer to travel time but for now I have a jump start.

I have to have everything packed by the 27th of August in the morning because DD has cheer practice in Baltimore until 9 that night and we have to be up the next morning by 4:30. Yikes!!!!!

Wait, I'm supposed to be packing... NOT happening... I still haven't started my FE stuff.... With my brother getting married the day before we fly out, I'm too busy with that to think about packing. I'll pack on the 21st the day before we leave in the AM before the wedding. That's the only space available right now. I'm not an early packer, just an early planner. I've gotten pretty good at packing, so it will take me a couple of hours and I'll have everything thrown in the suitcases and we'll be good.

Hi Everyone! We are so excited to be joining all of you on our first ever cruise! We have been reading the boards for awhile and have gotten some great tips- so thank you all for your advice. Our 3 children; DD 13; DD 11; and DS 8; can't wait to order room service!
My kids are excited but a bit nervous about being in the kids clubs without friends. Would love to get in touch with kids of similar ages.
We do not yet know our cabin #- and can't wait to find out to see if we will be neighbors with any of you.

My DD-11 has been looking at the boards in the hopes of connecting with other girls her age via e-mail prior to the cruise.
I will try to PM you her e-mail but I think that I read on here somewhere that you need to have 10 posts before this is possible.
Is this correct?
