August 29th, 2009--Eastern Magic...Let's Get it Started!

Ok, since I am totally stumped about what to put in the FEs. I will ask. I know it is a personal decision BUT do most people put things in for the kids, everyone, just 1 per cabin??? I am so stumped at what to do. I had an idea (might go back to it). But honestly I am spending too much time thinking about it, I need someone to tell me what to do! lol. We also have ALOT of people, so that makes it even harder to decide.

I was just on the FAQ thread looking up FE's to get some new ideas of what to give. Last cruise I went down town in Philadelphia to the tourist shops and haggled until I got a reasonable price for some Philadelphia Souveneirs...pins, pencils, pens, little liberty bells and key chains etc.

I also went to target and they have lots of little Disney gifts like small race cars, key chains, pencils and small change purses etc.

Don't forget Dollar Tree or Party Stores that may have inexpensive disney favors like glow sticks, inflatable minature balls for the pools etc.

Hope this gets the juices flowing:thumbsup2

I am doing one bag per room for the adults in the room, then a separate bag each for the kids. Without giving it away, I put some things I hope people find useful during the week in the adult bags, and the kids have some oriental trading things. My stepson also has 1 gift for the adults in the room, and a bag for each of the kids. The FE in the FAQ does have some suggestions, so maybe that will inspire you. I've seen homemade calendars, ornaments, scrapbook pages, picture frames, Disney music downloaded and put on CD's, magnets, imprinted things. Like Joe said, some give things from their states, maple syrup from up north, goo goo clusters from the south, mayber your state has something special that you could share with the rest. On our last cruise we got candy, disney paddle ball, a nice picture frame for our cruise, stickers, tatoos, little disney trinkets, and I can't remember what else...don't over think it, anything you come up with will be fine. It's meant to be fun, not something you should stress over.:flower3:

Hi Audrey,

We're at Disney the same time as you. We wanted to rent a boat on Tuesday or Thursday. We're staying at WL. Where are you staying? We're a party of 3.

Michele

Hi Michele

We would be able to do it on Thursday. We will be at POP on Sunday till Wednesday and then we will be at AK Villas. There are 3 of us also, myself, husband Doug and grandson Spencer who will be 6 in October. If you would like to PM me with any questions or particulars, please feel free to do so.

Audrey

Hi Everyone! We are so excited to be joining all of you on our first ever cruise! We have been reading the boards for awhile and have gotten some great tips- so thank you all for your advice. Our 3 children; DD 13; DD 11; and DS 8; can't wait to order room service!
My kids are excited but a bit nervous about being in the kids clubs without friends. Would love to get in touch with kids of similar ages.
We do not yet know our cabin #- and can't wait to find out to see if we will be neighbors with any of you.:goodvibes

Well, this is too funny... I have DS-13, DS-11, and DD-8. We are exactly the opposite, but the exact same ages.

Welcome aboard!! The kids are going to have a blast. I had to beg mine to spend time with me on our last cruise. They LOVED the kids programs!!

Looking forward to meeting you!

Niskayuna! See I can spell it. We live in Hoosick Falls!

Welcome fellow New Yorker.

I have a 7 year old daughter. She can chat with your DS, they will be in the same club.

When do you leave?

:figment:I am on the adult meal plan because that is for people 10 and older. Does this help in figuring out the best way to get 2 table services for Artist Point? Katiefigment:

Katie,

From my experience Disney counts ADR's not people. If you use your KTTW card for 4 table service credits it doesn't matter who they go to. You can order from the kid's menu if the restaurant allows it. But, you'll still be using a table credit for your meal.

I would "give" your parents two of your credits and pay for your meal with cash. Don't waste a ts on a kids meal.

Does that make sense?

How cool is this! We will leave on friday the 28th and will be staying at the Radisson, and will be flying home right after the cruise to get ready for school
Would love for my son to chat with your daughter, as he is the one that is having the biggest anxiety. Since he is 8, he can be in the same club as his sister, but don't think they will be doing groups together.

Too funny! I can't imagine anyone not wanting to do the kids clubs! I would have fun doing those activities-- making flubber sounds like fun!

Tell your son my daughter would be happy to chat with him. This is her 6th Disney Cruise. She loves the Mickey Boat and he will too.

You said you don't have a room number, what type of room did you book?

We booked a cat 4, our TA and disney said that we may not get our number until 30 days prior to cruise because we booked under the kids sail free PIN

Six weeks from tonight, we will all -
= be full from dinner
= have enjoyed a first night of activities
= have kids who are anxious to get back to the kids programs in the morning

what else?!?!! :yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo:
