August 29th, 2009--Eastern Magic...Let's Get it Started!

Did everyone see that the Eastern Magic that sailed yesterday has turned into a Western with two stops at CC? They are there today and will go to Cozumel and Grand Cayman before heading back to CC . . . doesn't sound bad to me at all! Let's face it, DCL will do whatever it takes for us to have a great cruise as long as we remain flexible (and are able to get to the ship!). I have friends on the ship now who were looking forward to Tortola, but I'm sure this will turn out to be a terrific week nonetheless.

I think that itinerary sounds great! Grand Cayman was very nice when we wen there years ago. We didn't really like Cozumel, but then we just wouldn't get off the ship 2 stops at CC sounds great!

It's not that I hate packing - it's more that I hate worrying about what I forgot to pack.

So if I pack early - I don't remember what I've already packed.. but if I pack late, I run out of time b/c I find there are things I need to pack but don't have.

It's soooooo hard to be me.

I too pack early then forget what I packed. I am determined to finish up the kids clothes tonight but I will have to pull out all of DDs shirts because she got new ones and I don't remember what I packed!

I am so friggin sick of packing. I have one bag done. It's really not done because DH's stuff is still not in it!!! I keep promising myself I'll get more done. I have six bags to go. God Bless SWA!

I'm tired of looking at the piles of clothes, shoes, etc. I guess it's my fault, if I stopped buying more clothes and changing outfits and accessories I might have accomplished something.

Hey, on the topic of moving ports. I was surprised DCL acted so quickly moving this week's cruise. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a DD at CC. I think I would sit down on the deck and cry I would be so happy. That place is pure paradise.

The Magic just left CC at 5:00. She's reporting 3 foot waves (crested wavelets) and winds of 20 knots (23 mph) from the bridge. That would give a girl a bad hair day.

I just dragged down the mother of all suitcases to pack for our week at Disney! I open it up and it's full of sand from last cruise UGH!!! Anyone have a shovel?

I pack for two trips, like one isn't bad enough. 1 set of luggage for WDW, 1 set of luggage for the cruise.

All these folks who are packed and ready to go are stressing me out just a bit.

I still have one more out of town trip to make, so I guarantee there will be no real cruise packing started here until a week from Monday... and we leave Wednesday. I'll just have to be very focused and very efficient.

I'm good with where ever the Magic takes us too. I've really been looking forward to an independant excursion we booked on St Thomas, but if it isn't meant to be this time around, it will give me an excuse to book another trip so we can try again.

I agree!!! We leave the house fri afternoon, i'll probably pack most everything wed evening or thurs..... I'm just trying to get through all the laundry now....

so my moms birthday is right when we get home from this vacation so we want to surprise her on the boat with an early celebration, does anyone have any really good ideas?

she is a young hip gma and i think we are going to give her a camera the first day/night sometime as you can see there clearly is no plan yet we just finished a huge wedding shower today so let the cruise planning begin

Double Dip, bring it on!!! We are happy to be on vacation so we will go anywhere DCL wants to take us as long as they have the kids entertained

Packing will commence eventually. We don't leave till next Monday so we have a week to lay it out. DD is gone for the week so we will pack for her, she will wear whatever we pack

Only concern is our flight in. Will keep an eye on it.

Bill is a category 1 with winds of 75 mph.

Here's the best part, he's going to miss our islands, he's going to miss our islands! Now we can go to St. Marteen, St. Thomas and the beautiful Castaway Cay!!!!

Thank God we don't have to go to New Jersey!

One thing I would do is talk to your head server the first night and he or she should be able to coordinate a celebration for you with cake, etc., for a night of your choice . . .
