August 28, 2004 "LOST AT SEA" Cruise

Bobby--

We will all have to get together at some point during the cruise and have a nice little sit-down meet (with drinks)! :) Thankfully, as Doreen mentioned, your Mickey Magnets will guide us back to our cabins. :p

Bobby

hey Everyone..

Jason...Here is what I came up with so far from your Matrix...

img01.gif

help me add the Night Life Sections..

Bobby

The matrix looks good Bobby! ::yes:: I like the additions you made.

Hmmm... As far as Night Life goes, you could definitly put down "English Pub Night" on the last night of the cruise (Friday). It's a total riot and you and Cindy won't want to miss that. Navigator from the May cruise says it starts at 11:00 PM.

What else...

The Mexicalifragilisticexpialidocious Deck Party is on Cozumel night. The whole family will want to catch that. 10:00 - 11:30.

Final Jackpot Bingo is on Thursday, generally 3:30 unless the pot goes at the 11:15 game.

Monday - 70s Disco Night ???
Tuesday - 80s Time Warp
Thursday - 70s Dance Party ???
(This info was from the Navigators on Dave's site. Not sure why 70s is listed twice?)

Hey guys!

Not too sure how late I can hang but I'd be interested in tasting a little night life on this cruise. I'm on deck 7 all the way at the end, if anyone needs a walk home in my neighborhood. Hoping I can talk DH into at least one dance night.

Darlene

Is English Pub night the Beatles night?

Why don't we set up a DIS meet in one of the nightlife spots.

What does everyone think? Lets do it earlier in the cruise say maybe Monday night, an at sea day so no one is that tired.

Let me know what you think and then our best and organized friend Jason can even add it to his website.

Your cruisemate
Joanna

Jason, you're right. I could at least get to 70 posts and become a veteran! ::yes::

Tell me about British Pub night. Do they have British beers?
I just imported Julian from England about 4 years ago. (He probably just married me to get into the country! ) This is his first Canada Day as a Canadian citizen.
Please say the British Pub night entertainment is nothing like that awful Pam Brody in the Rose and Crown. He runs and gags!!!:scared1:

:fish:

Darlene--

It sounds as if you'll have a lot of company in the clubs on this trip! ::yes:: Travis and I are usually in one of the clubs every night. Sometimes even closing them down! (Around 2 AM.)

Joanna--

Great idea about meeting Joanna! I have something we could add to it too... I was toying with the idea last week and thought I would do it on my own but if would be cool to get others to join in too. I was thinking, what if we all dressed for one of the theme nights?! :teeth: I was going to make a tie-dye shirt and get a peace necklace for 60's night. We could all make it our own theme night? :) OK, maybe it's just me... BTW, what kind of shoes did guys wear during that time? :hyper:

Whatever we decide I'll be sure to put it up on the site.

Gail--

English Pub Night is relatively new on the Magic. Joanna, it's not on the same evening as Beatles Night and it's a different format and in a different location. It's held in Diversions and, without giving too much away, it involves a VERY funny skit by the cruise staff, some pub-style sing-alongs (they hand out sheets with all the words), and just all-around fun. It doesn't really last too long but it is hilarious to say the least! (I can't give away anymore. I don't want to spoil anything.)

Not sure how it compares to the entertainment at the Rose & Crown. As much as I enjoy that Disney restaurant, and with as many times as I've dined there, I can't say that I've ever seen the entertainment. We have always sat out back on the patio area. We'll have to look into it the next time we visit. Maybe even this weekend.

I'm not a big beer drinker but from what I remember they do have some English beer. Guinness I think. Perhaps more. I'm more of a champagne and foo-foo drink person, myself! :teeth:

Tell Julian congrats on his first Canada Day!

When is "Beatles night" If its early in the cruise, do you want to have the meet that night?

If it is too late in the cruise, then we can just pick Monday and stick with it.

You know I want to say Platform, but I think those were about 10 year later.

Goodness knows, those days were a long time ago in my life, hard to remember LOL

Beatles Night (60's Dance Party) was on Sunday night on the Eastern. Not sure if it will be the same on the Western or not because Sunday is Key West night. I'll pull out the Navigators from last August and see when it was scheduled on that Western and I'll also hop over to the Crusie Reports forum to see if I can glean any info from a recent Western cruiser.

Mary Anne--

Tie-dye, was that 60's or 70's?

Tie die, neru shirts, bellbottoms and mini skirts were the 60's

Polyester suits, granny dress, platform shoes and jumpsuits were the 70's

So sad, that I miss those fashion statements LOL

Now, you're all trying to figure out exactly how old I am :teeth:

See what happens when I actually have something to do!!! Everyone starts talking up a storm!!! :)

Joanna... Jason is right about Florida weather. Although every day should be a pool party complete with all the margaritas and tostitos and salsa possible - we do have to deal with the daily grind, why I will never know! :) lol

Jason... I am not going to be the driver in our boat - that will be left up to Adam, but I can't say that should be much reassurance either  knowing his need for speed and toys! But I am looking forward to it - It should be a blast!

I am completely in on the theme dress up idea!!! I have a feeling convincing DH to participate will be a bit more difficult  Love the idea for a DIS meet at something like 60s night or whatever.

Bobby... your Matrix looks great! The nightlife part I would imagine won't be too hard to fill up!

And now for my newbie DISer sharing moment - I HAVE BEEN TAGGED!!!! Very exciting since I only recently found out what the Tag Fairy was! ;) I was lost with all the TF talk but was very happy to now see my tag line! SO THANKS to the Tag Fairy!
