August 28, 2004 "LOST AT SEA" Cruise

Welcome to the board Kathy!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

Bobby, I am with you 100% on your weight loss logic! Hoping to drop some pounds before the cruise too but I just know whatever I lose I will gain back on board!!!

I was also wondering about the iced coffee but figured with its popularity that Disney should have it somewhere onboard.

Jason... glad to hear you were able to get a spot on the Aquaboats! Now you just have to watch out for us - Adam hasn't driven a boat in years! :)

Jim - Enjoy WDW - we will be there in a little over a week...can't wait to go!

Reading the postd from the weekend I was LOL - I also speak of all of you by first name no longer saying things like "Joanna from the DIS board for our cruise" - this has now turned into just Joanna! Will be great to put faces with all the names finally (those of us who do not have photos on ThreeCircles yet anyway!) Can't wait until we are all onboard!

Hope you all had a good 4th! Talk to you soon!

Melanie

Don't forget everyone, you can send in your photo for the site at any time! That way, you'll be able to spot people you know even before the Dis meet! :)

Ok - finally got with DH and booked our excursions today:

On Grand Cayman -
Grand Cayman Island Tour - 10:00AM (Still hoping to convince DD to do stingray city again instead but so far she's not budging - LOL)

Castaway Cay
DH & DBIL are doing parasailing at 11:30
DD and I and Dsis and Dnephew are doing banana boat rides @ 10:30

Still hoping to rent an electric car in Key West and cruise around on our own and will more than likely do Mr Sanchos in Cozumel (after jewelry shopping of course..)

Count me and DH in for the DisMeet at 60's night.

Bobby - I am with you on the weight loss thing... Im gonna try for a few pounds myself so I can indulge on the cruise.

Hope you all had a great long weekend...

Hi everyone :wave2:

I'm still here; I haven't won a million dollars. LOL I don't even play the lottery! LOL Besides, if I did suddenly come into a LOT of money, you don't think I'd leave my DIS friends out of it, do you??
:p

It's been a busy weekend here. On Saturday we painted our house. We bought this house 5 years ago, and it was a medium blue with navy blue shutters and white trim. Now it's a taupe/tan color with a buttery-cream colored trim, and I picked out a really nice, but subtle shade of dusty-plum. In Home Depot, it's a Behr brand color called "Wine Frost". I love it! We've already painted the front door this color, and we're going to order raised-panel shutters and paint them the same color.

Yesterday (Sunday) we went to a beach in Rhode Island called Little Compton. What a beautiful day to be at the ocean. It had me daydreaming about the cruise.... :sunny:

Today we woke up to heavy rain so we slept in late then took the boys out to brunch then painted the front door and visited with some neighbors.

All in all, a great weekend and a great start to the summer. :)

A week from today I'll be at the New Jersey shore. I'll be bringing my laptop with me and will be able to sign on to the message boards at least once or twice while I'm gone. I'll be there for 2 weeks. I'll try to get online and do the weekly countdowns

I can't wait for 60's night. This is the night that the "Beatles" perform, right?? John and I will definitely be looking for some nightlife on the cruise ::yes::

I see on Three Circles.net that you are celebrating your 40th on 9/13 . I am also celebrating mine on this cruise but my real birthday is 9/10....we will have to have a drink to celebrate together....

Hi Everyone!

Hope you all had a happy 4th! We had 32 for a BBQ and are quite tired today! I booked the REAS pkg on Thurs. as a surprise for my husband (it's our 20th anniversary) and will call Debbie tomorrow to make our ressies. I also booked the Stingray tour through Native Way on Grand Cayman. I really want to do the dune buggy or jeep tour on Cozumel but it's been a long time since either me or DH drove a stick shift. Is it like riding a bike, you know, you never forget how? I'm going to visit over to threecircles.net right now and read up on the DIS meets and all.

We are also staying at the Radisson on Friday night before the cruise. Did I remember reading there is a list of who is staying there Friday night?

Getting really excited now!

O'BWV...Definitely go to three circles website and let Jason know you are staying at the Radisson, he will put you down for the Radisson DIS meet.

I also put you on page one as staying at the Radisson, anyone else staying at the Radisson or any other hotel pre night and want me to put it on page one for quick glance.

Thanks for adding my info to the first page Joanna!

Jason will you please add me to the Radisson DIS meet please?

Thanks,
Mary Rose

Well, I have officially started the gathering process. This is the precursor to packing. The suitcases won't come out till later this month but I'm starting to make piles.

I bought a button down shirt for one son and need to do something about shoes for them. I need to look for some underwater cameras.

Mary Rose--

I'll add you to the Radisson Dis Meet list with the next update. Thanks for letting us know you'll be there!

Was reading the posts..

Where is everyones signature and countdowns?..

Im at 50 Days Now..:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :earseek:

Bobby

Terry,
We will be in Cape May from the 10th to the 17th. Where will you be at the shore?

Darlene

There's a thread over on the Community Board which said that they have the signatures turned off for the next day or two because they're working on something. So...I'm sure we'll get to see our countdowns again soon :)

Darlene, I'll be in the Toms River/Seaside area of NJ. I LOVE Cape May and Wildwood though :) Wildwood Crest is one of my favorite beaches.

Good Morning everyone!

Terry & Darlene..... I LOVE Cape May and Wildwood. Went there every summer for 17 years. My family always stayed at the Montreal Hotel in Cape May for some reason. Wildwood Crest is also my favorite! DH and I are planning to go to Wildwood Crest with the kids next summer. Any suggestions on best places to stay???? We are family of 5 if that makes a difference. We haven't been there in years. Can't wait to go back....something so different about Jersey Shore! :)

Hope everyone enjoys their day today! :)

Melanie

Melanie - I don't know much about Wildwood Crest but Cape May is awesome. There are so many options for lodging: bed & breakfast, hotel, motel, inn, house rentals, etc. I love a place where I can park my car and walk the rest of the week. The only time I drive is to the lighthouse or Cape May County Zoo or Cold Springs Village, and now you can take the train to the zoo or village. I love the beach and it is quieter than Wildwood. The Victorian architecture is beautiful and creates a nostalgic atmosphere that I find peaceful. I'll check out the Montreal Inn for you, I know where it is. Tell me about Wildwood Crest.

Terry - Have a great time at the shore! Toms River is a little north. You like Wildwood Crest, too? What's in Wildwood Crest? I had an aunt who used to live in Wildwood but near the Crest, I think. Isn't that south of Wildwood?

I love to travel far and wide. But there is nothing like the Jersey shore. I can feel the tension and stress just ease away with my first whiff of the Jersey shore ocean breeze. Nothing like getting up early in the morning and walking the beach/boards/promenade. A little sea mist in the air and nothing but seagulls for mates and a good cup of coffee. Totally wrecks my hair but restores my soul.

We go to North Wildwood every September for the Firefighter convention. On the island, it's North Wildwood, then Wildwood and then the Crest. They run into each other and it's hard to tell when one ends and the other begins. The Crest is more family oriented and a lot quieter. In North Wildwood the beach used to be very wide but now there's not much left. There's more beach in Wildwood and in the Crest.

You might have a harder time finding a motel in the Crest than the other Wildwoods. Would you consider renting a house?

I haven't been in Cape May for years. We used to sit at the raw bar on the dock and eat and drink. I've always wanted to eat at the Lobster House.

Karel:

We go to the Fireman's convention every year. My husband is in the Stratford Fire Dept. which Dept. do you go with?

We are headed to Wildwood on the 17th for a week with friends I can't wait eventhough Ocean City is my favorite.
