Did anyone else get an info packet today in your mail? Listed dates when I can start making ressies. Really nice little info booklet.
As if I wasn't having enough problems concentrating on work. :woohoo:

Did I miss something? I didn't get anything from Disney. I went through a local TA since it's our first cruise (but now I see from this board I know more than the TA's here do) :rotfl2:

Next time, I'll book it myself! If there is a next time - hope so ;)

Good news - maybe since it's so expensive. We got a Cat 3 now instead! Initially it was going to be 5, then 4, now 3! DH is looking forward to the service and comfort of the suite. Doesn't seem to be many of us onboard eh?

Happymommy - it isn't the $$ that's stopping me upgrading (yet), but the cheapest way for us to holiday & guarantee getting the dates we wanted was to buy a package (flight, accommodation & car), unfortunately that means no dining plan & the travel company don't pass our details to Disney until about 8 weeks before departure! Hope you get your suite - we'll be sticking with our cat11! Maybe when we're empty nesters we can go for the suite! We got our little pack thing from our TA a couple of weeks ago (we have paid in full - don't know if that makes a difference) & because we've cruised before can start making our reservations 28 May.

I think we've agreed on the Castaway Cay stingray excursion & Grand Cayman Island tour. We'll do Key West on our own & Chakanaab National park on our own too.

I've seen much talk about "uncrustables". Can some-one enlighten a naive Brit on exactly what this is???

They are little round sandwiches with peanut butter and jelly/jam inside. They are round as the crust is cut off - many little kids like them (my DS did when he was 5, he'd eat 2 of them for lunch daily). They are marketed from the Smuckers company here in the US and you can actually buy them frozen and individually wrapped - that way Mommy can put one in the lunchbox and it would thaw by lunchtime for kids. I personally have a little cutter from a company called the Pampered Chef that cuts off the crust and seals sandwiches in the same manner as these - much more reasonably priced but also you can put in any filling.

Sorry if this is off topic!!!!!!!

Thanks for that - yes, off topic, but now enlightened! We have nothing like that in the UK, & I'm not sure DD would even try it - PB & J is definitely an American thing!

Has anyone made any plans for non excursion events, e.g art of entertaining etc? I really fancy that one as long as DD is at Flounders or DH will have her!

I just found this board. My family, DH, DS11, DD8, DS8 & DS 1 month are going on our 1st disney cruise the same time!! We are travelling with my Mom, Grandmother, sister, her DH & her kids, 12, 10 & 8. We cannot wait. Glad to meet all of you.

Is there anything I should know? :cool1:

Cindy, did you son email Nick? He is 11, will be 12 in May. Although baseball season has started and his time at the computer is limited, but he will get back to him eventually.

I'm pretty sure they emailed once. I 'm not really sure though.

I know its busy for all of us.

The 12 year old--my son would love to have more cruise buddies... If its a boy,.. I know he'd like to talk/email beforehand. If its a girl, all bets are off-he's still allergic to girls!

This is our first cruise.

Yeah, the 12 year old is a girl...sorry. But, my DS is 11.

My son is 11, so that would work well. PM me if you want them to email or something prior to the cruise.

Cindy B - My 12 DS would be interested in a cruise buddy (as would DD, 16- anyone?). PM me & we can exchange emails. This is also our first cruise! Yah! Can't wait...although I feel like I'm wishing the summer away!

I have been absent lately. Between the boys' baseball schedules, working 10 hours of overtime each week, getting ready to finish our basement, I barely have time to read any email. DH went to Home Depot last night to get concrete to put our basketball pole in (I don't think it is really "our" basketball pole, but I digress). I asked him to pick up 2 alien green paint chips. Strangely, he didn't ask why. Although he did when he got home. He asked the person working at the paint counter, since there weren't any of that color out. The employee said that slot is often empty. He didn't know why. I told DH, who I am sure will inform the Home Depot employee
I will have to get Nicholas (DS 11 almost 12) on the stick with emailing his buddies. He is a little forgetful.
I do make wise use of my time waiting for baseball games to start. I have a bag that I carry with my Passporter, highlighter, post-it flags. I don't think I did this much studing in college

Has anyone looked into the thriller boat excursion on Grand Caymen? Anyone going to take this excursion?

With school finally behind him, DH and I are finally going to sit down to talk about the cruise tonight once DD goes to bed (it's still a surprise). Since the 90 day mark is rapidly approaching we're going to have to figure out which excursions we want to do. I was thinking about booking a Stingray City and Snorkel tour through Capt Bryan or Capt Marvin, but last weekend at Sea World, DD5 was afraid to touch the rays. DH fed them and I actually touched them, but it was a bit freaky. I may have to re-think our excursions.

Anybody doing SRC and Snorkel?

Almost the 90 day mark & counting. Once I've booked something it will seem even closer! :cheer2:

So how did everyone do with their reservations today? I booked our Tulum tour, the Nautilus Submarine in Grand Cayman, and Palo brunch for Thursday. The site was very busy this morning when I was trying to book - it took me seven tries to log in to make the ressies, but it paid off! Now I just have to wait for the 75th day prior so I can book my MIL's shore excursions!
:cheer2: It's getting close everyone!! :cheer2:

Registered both the girls (1 for the lab, 1 for Flounders) and booked some Flounders time so I can go to the art of entertaining. It's just a shame that Flounders is not available between 1400 & 1700 hrs as there are lots of "adult only" things in that time frame so only one of us can go as the other will be childminding. Also booked the CC stingray for DD & DH (I will stay with the youngest as she'll only be 14 mmonths old). Also booked GC Island tour, but am still in two minds as I've seen mixed reviews, but our options are quite limited because of the youngest. Site was quite busy (I was on at 0830 GMT) but managed first choices, so am quite happy :wave2:

HI Everyone! My family (DH and DS5) will be joining you on the 7 n. Magic. This is our 2nd Disney cruise. We were on the Wonder the same time last year. Anyone out there wil 4-6 y.o boys?

Hi Jacob's Mom. Nice to hear from you. My DD is also 5 and is looking forward to meeting new friends on the club, so we'll see you there.

We look forward to seeing everyone there. I am definitely excited to go again! Last summer, my son (who was 4 and 3 mos at the time) didn't really like the Oceanear Club...he said it was too dark in the room and he seemed bored....they let me move him up to the next age level - which spent some time in the Lab- and he liked that a lot better. I hope he is ok on this 7 n! We just took a RCCL and he LOVED their children's program. He asked us to take him there all the time...so we are hoping for that attitude again!
