Ok, so on the FE list, what is the total number of participants now? I am doing a gift for each person, and with the added people, I probably have to place another order.

I think I have everything I need for the FE gifts. I have to get started working on them! I want to make some, sort them, bag them, box them up and send them out to meet us on the ship. :guilty:

This :thumbsup2

The more the merrier, just need an all up number and updated list when possible. Ordering within the next few days some supplies! Thank you for all involved in putting the FE together!

I thought I heard someone say you can mail the box directly to the ship? Does anyone know how that works?

Yes, you can. We typically ship our FE stuff to save on luggage space. The process works well, the box is typically delived to the stateroom often before your luggage shows up. :goodvibes

Disney Cruise Line has a warehouse that is about 10 miles from Port Canaveral. You address the box with the warehouse address, but you also include your information: Name, sailing date, ship name, and stateroom so in my case it would be as follows:

Jeff Langdon
c/o Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832

ATTN Housekeeping:

Jeff Langdon
Ship: Fantasy
Stateroom: 10578
Sailing Date: 08/25

A packing slip attached to the outside of the box is required.

Did we ever find out Nana's age or is that a grandmom? Also, how old is Aidan in Phillyfans room and how old is Sondra or is that an adult?

Thanks!

How far ahead of time should you ship a package before the cruise:confused3

Seeing the discussion on the cruise board about the DIS v. FB for groups, just wanted to make sure our sailing doesn't have a FB page, so that I am not missing anything?!!

If we are talking about the Nana in my room, that's my Mom, Janet. I think I can safely say she's 60+. :)

A lot of cruises have both. Since I don't care for FB (greatest time waster) I didn't pay attention if this thread created an FB group.

I wonder if a new FE is being started could we join. I was bumed when I found out what a FE was, but it had been closed. I have 2 DD 8 and 5 . this is our first Disney cruise. and I think the kids would love it. Thanks

I don't know either and I am also not a FB fan. Never thought to look for such a page.

Since we invited 2 other families in the FE since it closed, would 1 more family (with 2 kids) be ok, as asked by Filmguy above? I am leaning to ok for me, as 1 more if that's all. Funny, when I said how many families and kids we have to find gifts for so far, my DD10 said, "we'll need another suitcase just for FE!" :rotfl: She may be right!

I don't want to be a downer about adding people, but I think we have a close date for a purpose. Honestly, I have already ordered more of my FE gifts after the last addition. If we are going to extend the cut off, we need to pick a date and stick with it. I don't want to offend anyone, and want it to be fun, but our group is pretty big to begin with. Just my two cents.

and I'm totally fine with their being no FB group, less to keep track of! I just didn't want to miss anything if there was.

At the risk of complete alienation, I'm getting concerned that we keep adding people. I know 2 more were just added and it would be unfair to not add the latest request, but...this is my very first FE, and I really, really want to participate, but I am completely overwhelmed in general and overwhelmed with the continued growing size of the group, not only with the cost and transport of all the materials, but worried about the potential amount of time that will be spent delivering gifts. Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way, but I've already purchased/ordered what I need and had to go back and get more for the additions (which I'm guessing it would have been smarter for me to make sure I had room for extras). Perhaps those who have experience can offer up some suggestions to ease my anxiety and some tips on how to get this all done in time.

Participating in the FE is supposed to be a fun activity:thumbsup2 If you already ordered all of your materials at the time of the deadline, you are not obligated to do more.

When we first started the FE list I think we were going to create an additional group after 20 people. If we kept to that agreement we would now have a group of 20 and another group of 16:)

Sometimes being too flexible can lead to taking the joy out of an activity that was designed to be fun;)

I propose we split th FE groups into two so that all of aren't overwhelm with delivery and the cost. I too had thought we where going to have groups of 20.

Previously, I have seen people split a large group into two. Sometimes people would then decide whether or not they wanted to participate in both groups (give and receive in both groups). Or whether they wanted to give and receive just from the group they were assigned to.

Another suggestion would be that after the established FE close date, the original group would be closed, but a second group could be created for late comers. The second group would give and receive among themselves and then the people in the original group could decide if they wanted to give and receive to both groups or just the original group.

I haven't yet bought any stuff for my FE and probably won't until the end of July since that is the first breather from work I am going to have.

Edited to add: Coincidentally, I had seen a post about Facebook groups for cruises so I ran the name of our ship and cruise dates through the Facebook search option. Nothing popped up, so I don't think there is a Facebook page for this cruise. At least, not currently anyway.
