At sea... it's a crap-shoot. I'm hoping for clear weather, but I wouldn't be surprised by some localized systems.
I've sailed at all different times of the year... worst by far was early March. We were assailed by HIGH winds the entire trip... at one point the TV's read that we were in 26' seas...
Don't worry, Kelsey, we have sailed through two hurricanes with DCL. They will alternate routes if it becomes too choppy, or switch around days - the worst that can happen is NO Castaway Cay.
Last year we sailed through Hurricane Irene and had the dining room mostly to ourselves. Many other cruisers had lost their lunch on the way to dinner.
We already had our sea legs and were not affected at all.
Just don't worry, they REALLY know what they are doing!![]()
Hey I can't find the group. You can add me on Facebook or visa versa. I'm Yvette Santana from Florida

I have been missing from the conversation almost from the start, sorry! We went to D.C. for my hubby's new job and found out he won't be able to go on the cruise with us. Sad as that is, my sister has volunteered to take his place. Didn't have to ask her twice! It is her first Disney cruise, my second. My parents are also going with us and the best surprise--my in-laws (Tikihula on Disboards) are going as well! They surprised me last week by spilling the secret! They won't be joining us at Disneyworld beforehand, but we are happy to have them onboard.
I am hoping to meet a few of you at the 3pm gathering. I have 3 boys ages 12, 10, and 7, so hopefully they will be making friends with your kids!
Friendly warning: my MIL and I are a ferocious team at the Mickey Mania Trivia game!! Whoo-hoo!
April from Washington state (moving to Africa after the cruise)
Michelle, I got your PM and 5pm at Ghirardelli's would work perfectly fine for us!![]()
So, plans ......
Day 1, enjoy sailaway and meeting everyone
Day 2, CC, enjoy ocean and cabana on CC
Day 3, Nassau, most likely we will visit Tortuga - you MUST sample the rum cake - yum yum!!, Bacardi and do a little window shopping, if it is not too hot we might walk up to the Queen's staircase, Palo dinner
Day 4, at sea, breakfast, Captain's reception (or whatever this is called), Palo Brunch, Stateroom Crawl, Remy dinner - if we can fit it in, tastings would be fun (we have done champagne, wine and martini, so far, but we would do them all again)!
Day 5, CC, enjoy ocean and cabana on CC
Day 6, wave goodbye to you all and turn around and get right back on the ship[/QUOTE
If anyone wants to do Champagne Girls in our room. We have done it on past cruises with disers. It is tiara and boa dress and everyone bring a bottle of champagne or wine and we do our own tasting. It is a way to get together. I am sorry that I haven't been keeping up with the boards since they move so fast. We are in cabin 6612. Please PM if you would like to be apart of it. Also is anyone doing lanyards? I have seen it done on past dis cruise.![]()
Thanks for all the welcomes!
I would love to do a pre-meet but I also work at DCL and will be at work until 7pm. I will definability be at the meet on the ship
