August 22nd 2009 Western Carribbean Anyone?

I was just about to ask if anybody had received their final packet yet. How about anybody in the US?

You may want to check with your TA. She probably has them already.

Glad to hear Kirstin in healing. As she is young, she will probably heal well and quickly. My former boss had the same thing done years ago, she claimed that her torn miniscus was a sports injury, but I happen to know that she did it bumper bowling .

Hey everyone,

Back from a week at the Jersey shore. Weather made it memorable. We had five nights of late afternoon/early evening thunderstorms. Never had that happen before. It really hurts for us because we like to go surfing in the late afternoon.

The water was nice and warm on the first day but after the first set of thunderstorms the water cooled down and we were wearing wet suits/rash guards.

The surf was rough all week - great for surfing/boogie boarding but made it extremely hard to get out to the breakers. It was exhausting. It wasn't dangerous or anything like that but the waves were constantly pounding on you.

But its got us excited for the cruise. I'm working on my door signs while doing all the vacation laundry.

One thing I'd like to suggest we all do is to make a last post right before you leave announcing that you are leaving and will meet on the ship. Then the last family that posts "turns out the light". We did this on my 2006 and it was myself and one other family that "turned out the light".

I think that is a great idea. I'm looking forward to my final post on the 15th, so I doubt I will be turning off any lights
I've been away for a while so I have been very quiet. Now that I am home I am anxious to start packing. I still need to get my FE gifts. Lots to think about.
Best wishes to everyone who is heading off to WDW early.

I agree, but when do we post our goodbye? We're leaving for Orlando on the 14th but, between my iPhone and hotel connectivity, I'll probably be posting even after we board...

Welcome to the teens! According to my countdown clock, we are 19 days from sailing!

For everyone wanting an update on the status of their final travel documents... ours turned up here in London this morning.

Verrrrry exciting!

I'm sooooo excited!! I've had my suitcase out and half packed for a week now and we don't leave until the 21st. I'm like a little kid :lmao: I'm ready for vacation to begin!!!!!!!!!!!1

Our docs arrived today.:yay::banana::cool1: Thought they were not coming but neighbour has just been with them, he signed for them this morning.

:happytv:
We got our documents this morning too!! Gotta love the UPS man!!!

kids watching tv and I am watching for the brown truck for the documents now. suitcases are out, list is made. Husband just surprised me with an extra night at the rasison in cocoa beach so our countdown clock is even closer. leaving the 19th and driving down in one day from Jersey. I am so excited I cant even sleep at night. I think my husband is even more excited. TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY CRUISE AND CANT WAIT!!!!!!!! SEEMS LIKE THE SHIP WILL BE FULL OF BOARD MEMBERS!!!!!

LOL, never thought of that. Hmmmm. Well, do a "temporary" goodbye when you leave.

Ah the downside of 24/7 electronic communication. Are we truly ever on vacation anymore?

We received our documents too. Is everyone else's first page ripped out also? I am just assuming that DCL needs this for records.
We leave on the 12th. Can't wait.

Still waiting for ours, also. But they will be going to our TA and that seems to always delay things. That said, it took forever to get our travel kit last spring. True story - the letter that was enclosed was dated for March and we received it in May.

Yes, the first page is ripped off. Don't know why. Why can't the documents be printed minus that first page? It confuses people all the time.

Couple of things to announce to you all.......talked to DCL concierge this morning and its true you can NOT bring bottles of alcohol purchased in Grand Cayman back onto the ship. That is a government rule that only applies in Grand Cayman. So no bringing onboard those bottles of Big Black Dick that we talked about (rats ).

I was told if you want to purchase alcohol to bring back on the ship then do it in Cozumel.

Also, we'll hold our get together in the Walt Disney suite on the first sea day which will be Monday. Let's do it at 2pm. So come on by. I'll have out some bottled water and sodas and some snacks.

I figured we'll all be too exhausted on the second sea day to do anything in the afternoon other than take some much needed afternoon naps.
