August 2016 - anyone else planning for this time?

We are planning on going to Disney for the last two weeks of august for 2016. I cant wait! We went in February of the this year for my sons birthday we had an amazing time.

I am in the uk and they have their free disney dining offer at the minute so want to take advantage of this as this will be our first time staying on site (have been to Disney 7 times but always stayed in a villa offsite) and im a bit stuck on where to book as we are going with the grandparents who are in their 60's space is quite important so we are looking at OKW 2bed villa which is the one the grandparents prefer as is larger, however i think the facilities look better at SSR. I am planning on booking this weekend so need to make my mind up asap.

Yeah the offer ends in a week or so, so need to get booking. I know its ages away but im already in planning mode lol I think as we will be staying on site for the first time etc it will be a completely different experience for us.

Here too I'm already excited, more so for next year's Disney trip than our vacation to the mountains in August. It's good to be prepared and you learn a lot on these forums. I know it helped me a lot to get everything I wanted on our last two trips.

Next year is going to be tough for us as I'll have one DD graduating college and the other graduating high school and off to college...ugh! BUT, if we scale back our days and get another great agency deal...I may be able to pull it off. So for now, it's a plan .

We are so excited! We will be celebrating my son turning 10 and my daughter finishing middle school and going on to high school. I even pick out magic band colors already

We have booked for second half of Aug '16 - staying CL at AKL. We would have loved to go this year but eldest son needs surgery so this summer we need to concentrate on getting him well. Even more reason to have a great holiday planned for next year hence the upgrade! We would love to go at a cooler time of year but have to work around school holidays. It will be 6 years since we managed to go last as the distance and airfares have been pretty much prohibitive for us (we are also in UK so will benefit from the FD too). We can't wait!!

Yes I too picked our magic bands yesterday. I am even thinking of the different ways to,decorate it.

We're planning to celebrate our 25th anniversary around the 3rd week of August in 2016. It'll either be at Wilderness Lodge (where we stayed last year in August) or at the Contemporary. We got a pin this year for this summer so hopefully we'll get one next year

We will be going next summer but usually wait for discounts before deciding on August or September. This year I booked at rack betting on a good discount or FD and got FD. Next year we are taking the niece and nephew. FD would be optimal but it may be extinct by then.

We usually go to Florida beach and Disney World in August every odd year except for 2015 when we brought my mother with us in April because she cannot stand the summer heat and humidity.

We are now considering August 2016 (2017 is less optimal for us... DD will be starting high school).

We are playing with the idea of staying at a moderate, unless a deluxe ends up costing the same (this year, AKL had an amazing deal for a while).

Which hotel is most likely to be included in the special offers when they come out? for example, PO was excluded from Free Dining this year.

I too was tempted to do a moderate and add the water park option, dining plan, etc.... but want to go all out next year so going to Poly as long as the discounts work out ok.

If planning for next August, can you book now and then if a discount comes out, call and have the discount applied to your already reserved room?
