I keep checking, but rates for my dates (August 23-September 2) have not dropped anywhere near where they were when I booked in early July.

Wow, Alamo dropped from $302 to $287 today for me, standard rental with extra driver 8/16-8/26.

Our rental starts in under a week and the pricing today has gone up. The previous week it was down down down every day, I think I'm in the last minute upswing.

It's direct through Alamo.com and I only signed into my insiders account. Total cost is $276.79 including taxes and fees. Maybe because I'm a couple days earlier then your pick up date. Hopefully yours will come down in the next couple days. Keep trying! I thought a decent rate was a no go for this year but I've been checking a couple times each day.

Thanks. I will just keep on checking. I'm at $279 total for 10 days with Hertz which isn't bad, but I'd love to do even better (plus free spouse driver would be great).

As I mentioned, afaik you have to print out the form that the site says to print once you complete the info on alamo.com to take straight to the car and show at the booth as you leave the parking garage. This is how it works at MCO. If carrentalsavers gave you an actual alamo confirmation number log into alamo.com and use the number to see the reservation. From that point you can complete the info necessary to print the page to take with you for skipping the counter.

Jeepers! I checked out Thrifty just for kicks and I got our dates (Aug 16-26) on a Nissan Altima for $228. I booked it quick!! One hint, I don't know how much difference it makes for others, but I was putting in our pickup time as 2pm. I switched it to 1:30 and it took nearly $30 off the rental price!

AWESOME!! Thanks for posting! I checked my dates on carrentalssavers.com and the price for my ten day had gone from $339.15 (which was the best price I saw for months) to $212.70. Then I booked through Costco and it was even lower... $209.09 including all taxes and fees! So happy about that savings!!

My 12 day Budget rate went down to $232 for mid-late August. I wish the suv rates would drop but I'll be happy with the full size.

I have never used carrentalsavers before, I just checked rates for our 8/24-9/6 trip MCO-TPA...I have what I think is a pretty good rate of $269 including taxes. However, when going to book the reservation I am getting "We're sorry, but the price breakdown is not available at this time. Your TotalPrice is guaranteed."

Should I be concerned at all?
