We don't make a plan, we just eat wherever we are closest to! There are two places we def want to try this time though- The Tortuga Tavern and Casey's in MK. We've never been to either, so we will make an effort to eat at both while we are there. Other than that, anything goes.

Spent the day yesterday in NYC seeing Disney's Mary Poppins on Broadway- highly recommend it if you are in the area!! It was soooooo good, with all of that Disney magic. My son and I loved it! Did not get to hit up the Times Square Disney store (lol) but will be Disney shopping soon enough, right?

Mary Poppins is coming to our city this fall and I plan on taking DD to see it. Glad you enjoyed it.

We are on the free DDP, so we have ADRs made for the TS places. But other than that, I have a mental list of CS/QS places that I think my family would like. If we're near one of them when it's time to eat, we'll do that. Other than that we'll just pick somewhere close. Because of how hot it's going to be, I want to try to avoid zig-zagging back and forth across the parks as much as possible. So we'll just grab something close by.

We are doing a lot of the TS meals on our trip (we are on the DxDP) however we do want to go to a couple of CS restaurants that we love to go to i.e. CHH, Starring Rolls, Earl of Sandwich, to name a few. When we plan out our days we do put in where we are eating at what time, only if we have a Confirmation # for it, but for CS meals, we just write in when we want to eat it (either B, L, or D) but not the time range. Sometimes if we are really hungry, and have no ADRs, we will stop somewhere that will look good to all of us.

For my family, it's not worth it. We are just not big dessert people. I mean a cookie or and ice cream every now and then, of course~we ARE on vacation after all~ but we found that most of the time we were throwing the desserts away alot. Plus I ordered water from GG and we'll have our mugs, so we're not going to need the drinks that come with EVERY meal. So we've opted out of the DP for the last few years.

Yeah that's where I was looking at buying it. Just wondering if it was worth it. I prefer free library books and always have one or two library books on hand. My library had a few Disney books and the most recent was from 2010, the rest were older. They don't have the unofficial guides at all. I didn't actually go to the library and look at them just checked the catalog online. I guess I could go look at the ones they have. I just figured they were outdated and I could find better information online.

That's a bummer your local library doesn't have it. For mine, their online catalog rocks and is always very accurate so I trust it when it tells me it doesn't have something.

As far as wait lines go the new Disney Magic app has all that plus fast pass times, etc and it's free. You can't see that information until you are on the resort though. But if I'm at MK and want to check out wait times at AK I could. I've noticed lots of commericials for the app so it must be new and might just be for Verizon customers. Luckily we have Verizon.

I may still buy the book. I do enjoy reading about Disney!

My understanding is that it's available to everyone now, including non-Verizon customers. I carry a BB so can't use it on that but hubby has an Android, so we're loading it on there. I'm from Canada so we ended up unlocking our phones and getting Tmobile prepaid SIM cards. So we pay $2-$3 a day for phone and internet. much more affordable. (or if we don't need internet just 5-10 cents each for calls and texting.

The whole team August thing got my creativeness going so I made a couple LGMH too

Anyway, I also asked about coming 2 days early and staying at ASMu. I told the CM I know it will be a separate reservation because of free dining. Great. But she said I couldn't pick up my 8 day park passes prior to the POR stay on Aug. 25. I had heard someplace I could pick them up 3 days early. She said absolutely not. Does anyone know if she's right or should I call back and talk to another CM? She was actually pretty rude, but I know we all have bad days. I would love to just add another day to the existing park tickets and pick them up early. DH now doesn't want to go early if we can't go to the parks early. I'm researching Orlando attractions trying to convince him, but it might be a no- go! Help!

I thought I would have to add on a separate ressie when I decided to extend my stay for a day a few months ago. My travel agent told me I could add it to my current free dining ressie easily WITHOUT a separate ressie. Dunno if it's because I fell within my free dining dates so ymmv.

I have so much info going through my head I seem to get overwhelmed with things like remembering where I wanted to try and eat. I am trying to be better this time about knowing I head for places I want to try and make sure to try a few new snacks that I have read about. We usually dont get many snacks but there are a few I want to try but they will probably replace meals since everything in WDW is pretty rich and huge I iwsh DH and I could agree on more things to share so I could try more.

I typically have an idea where and when I want to eat.

I am doing DDP. We did that last trip and loved it. We are looking forward to it this year. that said, i took a look at 2013 price increases and I think Disney is starting to outprice me! In 2010 I was thrilled at what an affordable vacation WDW was - now with all the price increases, it's getting more expensive every year and it looks like it could get to the point where I'm outpriced. We'll see about next year....

We went without the QSDP in September. While we didn't count exactly what we spent, we know that we would have saved money paying for the plan ahead of time. We tried to save and share at times and we would have not needed to worry about that if we had payed for the plan.

There are certain QS retaurants that we prefer, so we like to try to eat there. These include Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bill, Sunrise Seasons and Flame Tree BBQ. That being said, we are always looking for new QS restaurants and we would have never found Cosmic Rays ribs if we had never gave it a try

We always get the dining plan whether it is free or not. For us it just takes a lot of hassle out of worrying how much meal is going to costs us. So far we think we have come out ahead.

We have gotten one annual pass for us the last few times we have gone picked up the TIW card. That is where the real savings are--lol. Plus having an annual pass is a great way to have to go back. Actually I am debating doing a non-expiring 6 day versus the AP. This trip is 2 days and then in May it is 4. so it is a close call.

The last three trips we have taken, we have gotten the DDP for free, which is sooo great because I have all these boys who clean their plates . I think I would still pay for the DDP if it wasn't offered free, because I have done the math and it would save us money- we like being able to sit down and eat every day. I guess it depends on your family, and how much food and time you want to spend eating?

I'm jealous! I want that Ariel T - except I'm not as big a fan of the grey - grey doesn't really work well on me.

BTW, I love, love, love that ear headband. I decided to buy myself a year headband on our upcoming trip - but this really tempts me to buy online before I go. Still our first day is at DQ/DtD so I figure I SHOULD be able to fin an awesome headband somewhere in DtD.

With the Photopass Share I'm organizing, I expect to take lots and lots of photos - making a really cute Ear Headband a very worthy investment - right? (please enable me!)
