Here's ours, too...
8/28 EPCOT
8/29 AK (RD)
8/30 MK (RD)
8/31 EPCOT
9/1 relax pool and and explore day...please no rain!
9/2 MK
9/3 HS
9/4 undecided
9/5 Downtown Disney (a tradition on last wdw day)

On another note, I just found out that airfare on my identical itinerary dropped by more than 60.00 and called US AIRWAYS to see what they could do...
Hahahahahahahahahahaha........in short, nothing. Grrrrrrrr.

Ok, so here is our list of park days....

8/23- arrival day- AoA/pool
8/24- Epcot day
8/25- Animal Kingdom
8/26- DHS
8/27- Magic Kingdom
8/28- DTD
8/29- Epcot
8/30- Magic Kingdom
8/31- Departure day

I have intentions of going to rope drops, but please don't anyone hold your breath on that one. Only done it once in 17 trips. :lmao: :rolleyes1

Also QOTD: We usually pick our favorite QS to eat at before hand and stick to that. Our Autistic DS likes to know where we are going and somewhat schedule ahead of time, as much as possible. And we will stick to it as much as possible because of what happened about 7 years agoish. We had planned to eat at a certain place and changed it to Main Street Bakery. DS wanted sausage and that was all that was on his mind. In the middle of the Bakery he starts melting down and screaming for sausage. My pooh-sized self starts running to Crystal Palace to buy some sausage for him. Needless to say, Disney magic happened. All I mentioned was my Autistic Son and they said "what do you need?" and I said "Sausage"(with tears streaming down my face) and they got me about 8 links. I tried to give them money and they wouldn't take it. They said "take care of your son". I LOVE DISNEY!!!!! So, we like to stick to a schedule. He is 13 now so he understands a little better and doesn't freak out like when he was little (thank goodness)

May I have one also please? Is there anyway you can make it with Flounder and Ariel from Little Mermaid? And yes, I would like victoriasmom98@yahoo.com. Thank you so very much!!! :thumbsup2

As for the Question of the day...
I think we will just eat where we are.

Yeah, that's what we do with our Counter Service meals, too. ;)

2 cases of water
chex mix

Wow - we've got a fast-moving thread today!

QOTD: We have a few favorites we must hit, so we (loosely) plan those based on our touring plan and where we think we'll be based on past experience. Those include:

Columbia Harbour House (my fave for nostalgic reasons - we CAN'T miss this one)
La Cantina de San Angel (nachos and churros...mmmmm)
Liberty Inn (again, nostalgia & tradition)
Flame Tree BBQ

As for the rest of our meals, we kind of go based on where we are and what we're hungry for.

Here's our (tentative) plan:

8/19 - arrive, DTD
8/20 - MK
8/21 - DHS
8/22 - no park, DTD

The "sausage" story brought happy tears to my eyes. That is one of the reasons why I love Disney!:thumbsup2

Anyone else find the Disney World site countdown wonky?? It says I have 44 days til my vacation but my countdown app on my phone and my personal calendar at home says I have 37 days to go. :P Oh well, I am going by the lower count.

If you click on one of your reservations it has you put your password in and it refreshes your countdown. Essentially it logs you out and shows the countdown from the last time you actually logged in.

I figure we'll be checking in by 11:30. Gotta get right to sleep to because we have an ADR at Ohana at 7:35 lol

I have a question today-
Do you have a quick/counter service plan for the parks? Just eat where you are near when hungry or make a plan for meals that arent TS? .

We are on the DDP which we got for free as part of our package.(yet another reason why I love to go the last week in August!). We usually wing it during the day and eat an early lunch at whichever quick service restaurant we are near. One that we love is Cosmic Rays in MK. My DD loves the burgers and carrot cake there. In fact, she won't eat carrot cake anywhere else in the world. Kinda strange to me cause I don't think it's anything special.

Has anyone done a list yet anywhere of where everyone is going to be each day? I know Nikki did a really helpful ones of ADRs each day.

If not, I'll be happy to do one up. I'll also ask if you plan to be there for RD (so us crazy RD'ers can hunt for each other). Hopefully, this will be also helpful to arrange DisMeets!

And for those who "wing it", just post your overall vacation dates and I'll have a "wing it" list.

Just list:

Date, Park, and whether you plan to be there for RD.

We definitely wing it most days. I am a compulsive planner. The weird thing is, once I am on vacation, I want to relax and take things as they come. We usually decide where we will go the following day once we are back at our resort for the night. We always get the hopper option on our tickets and will frequently go to more than one park a day depending on what we are interested in doing. I do try to be somewhat near where our ADR is for supper come the afternoon so we don't have to rush while dealing with Disney transportation. We all know how inconsistent that can be!!!

For those of you ordering from garden grocer or wegoshop, what's on your grocery list? I'm trying to compile mine now. So far the only things I can think of are:

Distilled water (for DH's CPAP)
Gatorade
Coffeemate creamer
Milk
String cheese
fruit

Last year I ordered way too much food thinking we may get hungry once back at our resort at night. Boy was I wrong! We were so stuffed on the DDP that some nights we were actually uncomfortable after supper lol. This year my list looks like this...

Case of bottled water
24 bottles of Snapple diet iced tea (it's an obsession of mine and i can't be without it even in Disney...what can I say)
A package of graham crackers and a package of chocolate (for marshmallow roasting at POR)
A quart of milk (I need my coffee immediately after I wake up and I can't stand powdered creamer
Red Bull for the young adults (it's their coffee)
Air freshener for the bathroom (we are bringing the 23 yr old boy with us this year lol)

I will probably tack on a couple of more things before I place my order but this it what it looks like as of now.

Boy is this thread moving along! I've been crazy at work getting ready for our annual state health department survey and it took me forever to catch up today!

Speaking of that, I need all of your help sending some pixie dust my way. I am the nurse manager of a 52 bed geriatric psych unit and I'm required to be present for the survey...even if it means not going or coming back if I am on vacation :headache: Our survey is due any day now and I have been a nervous wreck worrying that they may end up coming late this year, causing me to have to cancel our trip. If everyone could send some good thoughts and prayers our way I would appreciate it. I really want to be able to relax and know that it's behind me. 46 days to go!!!

Ok.. our plans eh?
Well I've spent so much time changing resorts I don't think I've actually looked at our plans in a month or more so these are very much subject to change

August 23rd.. land at almost midnight, check in at Universal
August 24th.. Sleep in. Universal Park
August 25th.. Early Entry at whichever Universal Park
August 26th ..Early Entry at other Universal Park, Move to Disney, Check in.
Not sure for the evening.
August 27th Epcot
August 28th MK
August 29th Studios
August 30th Animal Kingdom
August 31st Sudios and MK
Sept 1st.. Not Sure
Sept 2.. Not Sure.

The plan is loose. We want to hit everything because we'll have a first timer with us. As the week wears on and we get tired I imagine many days will be half days or have big pool breaks or even a waterpark thrown in.
We've done this week in August a few times now, and we know we can't keep up a heavy pace for even a day or it goes downhill fast. It's just too hot. So the emphasis is on rope drop, and heading back to the resort when we get too hot and tired. I might try some evening EMH this time too.

Just did some shopping online at the Disney Store to get ready (since I couldn't go yesterday! lol)

I got the v-neck red Mickey shirt and the Little Mermaid tee, got tees for the boys, and then HAD to have these  :

Is it too early to start packing?? Again, I don't want to wish the summer away but I kinda want to be in Disney right now!

I love that headband!!

And you;re right - this thread moves FAST!!!

I've taken to clicking on my user name and viewing my statistics to "find all posts by elaine amj" and then clicking on my last post in the thread and reading onwards from there.

I wish there was a function on the forums to "view last unread post". Other forums I have been in have this feature but I have not been able to find it on the DIS yet. (If there is such a thing, PLEASE point me in the right direction)

How does everyone else follow along this thread?

The new app has that feature! I love it and spend waaaaaay too much time one the dis boards now! :)
