Excellent surprise!!!!
It may take a few moments to sink in but I bet they will be thrilled.
We surprised our kids in 2010 and it honestly could not have gone better. We just did it around the supper table a few days before the trip. We had told them we were going camping and talked about camping for a few weeks.
They were ok to go, but not really thrilled with the idea.. especially since we kept talking about how hot it would be and how it might rain the whole time

(Didn't want them too excited!)
So we shared with "good news and bad news". They thankfully chose the bad news first (they always do).
Bad News.."We've decided it isn't the right time for us to go camping"
My then 6 year old .. "That's ok you guys.. we can have fun at home"(he's such a doll).
Well the good news is..."We leave for Disney the day after tomorrow". There was about 30 seconds of silence, as their faces contorted and they looked at eachother, then back at us..
And then shouting and squealing and laughter and actual happy tears from both of them!!!!
I wish I had filmed it but really didn't think to. It's one of my best memories ever.
My 6 year old told us he had to go to his room to think and calm down
