haha! Love them!

Me too! I think I am going to get one to hang up in my locker at school. Everyone around me will just be smelling turkey legs all day. I bet they'll be very happy with that.

OMG! We are SOOO excited!!!:cool1:
DH and I are going to spring the SURPRISE on our boys TOMORROW MORNING! I can't believe we have managed to keep this trip a secret for so many months...

Our trip to POFQ 8/25 - 9/1 is smack dab in the middle of our boys' 8th and 11th birthdays, so we are wrapping up a GIANT gift box for each for them to open . Outside will be an "Invitation" for them to CELEBRATE their brother's birthday... on 8/25....at.... then they will open the box and have balloons fly out (Mickey Mouse, too, of course!) with a whole bunch of Disney stuff inside.

Now, if they don't absolutely go BANANAS, it will be a huge let-down, of course... DH has been planning this surprise for MONTHS, and wants them to, as he delicately puts it, "absolutely lose their $%&!":woohoo::love1::goofy::earboy2::ccat:

We made our first trip to DW last Christmas and FELL. IN. LOVE!!! None of us has been able to stop talking about it since we got home. When the Free Dining promotion came up again, we jumped on it! Wish us luck (and a little pixie dust!)!

:)What a great way to surprise your kiddos! How exciting, am sure they will have a great reaction. We tried to surpirse my siblings but werent as organized as you but they were still quite surprised (once they got over the disbelief lol).
Hope they have great bdays in Disney as well!

Adorable!!! Can't wait to hear how they react! One of these trips, I want to surprise my boys, I just can't keep a secret! Good luck!

Excellent surprise!!!!
It may take a few moments to sink in but I bet they will be thrilled.
We surprised our kids in 2010 and it honestly could not have gone better. We just did it around the supper table a few days before the trip. We had told them we were going camping and talked about camping for a few weeks.
They were ok to go, but not really thrilled with the idea.. especially since we kept talking about how hot it would be and how it might rain the whole time:rotfl: (Didn't want them too excited!)

So we shared with "good news and bad news". They thankfully chose the bad news first (they always do).
Bad News.."We've decided it isn't the right time for us to go camping"
My then 6 year old .. "That's ok you guys.. we can have fun at home"(he's such a doll).

Well the good news is..."We leave for Disney the day after tomorrow". There was about 30 seconds of silence, as their faces contorted and they looked at eachother, then back at us..

And then shouting and squealing and laughter and actual happy tears from both of them!!!!

I wish I had filmed it but really didn't think to. It's one of my best memories ever.
My 6 year old told us he had to go to his room to think and calm down:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Awesome surprise! let us know how it goes!
We tried to surprise DH's parents (he and his sister & brother all planned this for a year) and arranged for everyone to get together in May. As much as DMiL& DFiL tried to act surprised, you could tell they weren't. It was a huge let down for the little kids. Turns out Disney, under strict instructions NOT to contact them, mailed them everyone's invoice (we all chipped in together for the trip and didn't want them to know even how much it cost) not once, but twice!! They were happy though, especially once they figured out they weren't paying for everyone (as it seemed by the invoices). :)

Love this so much!!! I have to learn to keep a secret and surprise my boys- would love to see this kind of reaction!

We are trying to surprise the boys. Just 5 weeks to go! The only thing saving me is our December trip because we can talk about our trip to Disney that is coming up...they just don't have a clue that we decided on a last minute trip too! They think we are going down the shore b/c we are flying out of Atlantic City. I did tell them that we will be getting up early because we have a special plan booked that we need to be there early for. We haven't decided how to tell them yet. I am looking for backpacks that they can bring so that the characters can autograph them. We did it a few years ago and my DS8 loved it. It was a great way to get their signatures and see them nearly every day.

Me!!!! 49 days to go!!! 27th August-10th September at the all star music resort. Last couple of holidays were spent at the animal kingdom lodge....but I'm sure this will be just as magical!!!!

:welcome: to our group!

Also adorable! I love these surprise stories!

Which beach do you come down to if you were actually coming to the shore? ;)

I finished by DIS and Team August buttons for my hat. Hopefully I will be able to meet a few Dis'rs with them. I just hope they survive in the rain :umbrella:

Looks good!

Just got these two shirts at Kohls today for DD and I. The gray one is hers and the white one is mine. Ended up paying 69 cents total, for them both, using Kohls cash and a coupon I had. Can't beat that! :cool1:

Those are super cute!!

What a fun surprise! We surprised our boys for 2 of our 3 previous trips. Both times it was the day we left. First trip in '03, the boys were 8, 6 & 2. Walked in from the bus after school and the 2 older ones were ready to jump in the car as soon as we said "Since you guys are off on Monday and Tuesday next week, how about we take off the rest of the week and go to Disney!" The second time in '09, we picked them up early and as they all sat down in the livingroom to figure out what was going on, my youngest, then 2 1/2 said "we go mickey mouse" (but not quite as clearly, LOL) The older ones all looked at him like he was crazy until they realized what he meant! Amazing how quick they can get out the door....it's never like that on a school day!

Excellent surprise!!!!

Too funny about your inlaws! Great surprise though!

Thanks Nikki for the tag!!

Okay-- obsessing over my ADRs for the hundreth time. I need EPCOT recommendations!! I booked Garden Grill but then read some not too good reports on it and I already have two character breakfasts booked- which is more than enough. What WS restuarants do you recommend? We have eaten at Biergarten (loved and would return but have eaten there every trip) and at Marrakesh (did not enjoy our meal there.) What places do you all love? I keep trying for Le Cellier, but it's booked.

Sorry I don't have any experience at GG but one of the best times I had dinning not just at DW but anywhere was at Teppan Edo at Japan. Good to hear you enjoyed Biergarten we and going their this year.

Ooh Teppen Edo! I may have to either change my ADR's yet again or else start thinking about another trip! :)

Our kids think we are doing another beach trip right before school starts. We even told them we were going to surprise them with which beach we are going too. A Dis friend is making shirts and possibly a DVD for us to surprise them with on the morning we leave. 43 more days to go!
