ADR we are most excited about. Well as of right now we're doing the QS ddp so we only have a few. I think Raglan Road because it's new to us, or the Plaza for lunch because the food is so simple but always really yummy:)

If we don't have a question of the day, here's one! sorry if it has been asked already!

QOTD: How do you respond to the bah humbuggers who try to ruin your excitement with a reminder about the weather such as how hot it is or how it is hurricane season?

It is truely my favorite time of the year to go! Who doesnt' love to splash in the puddles in Disney World :teeth:
Mind if I ask the QOTD this morning???

What ADR are you most exited about???

We are doing mostly repeats this trip but I'm most excited for our Le Cellier lunch ADR. We've only ever done dinner and I've got my eyes on that stead sandwich!!

Ohana for us too!! :banana::banana:

I am also excited to try Le Chef De France and Sanaa for the first time!

We ate at Raglan Road on our last trip and it seriously cured my 24 hour anxiety attack! The food and entertainment were so awesome! (The beer helped too!)

I'm really sorry to hear that, it sucks being an adult sometimes.

I have been lurking on this thread for FAR too long!
This is my family and my 5th August in a row, we always go the last two weeks of August. This year we will be there 8/17-8/31, staying at our favorite resort POR! I can't wait to see the new refurbed rooms and the Queen beds!

I LOVE POR! one of my favs. Been staying there since it was Dixie Landings. The last time I stayed there was this past October RIGHT before the refurb!! Queen beds!!! Lucky you!

My goodness!!! You've all been busy chatting away while I was absent!! I have lots of multi quotes to respond to...

Right now AirTran is the cheapest at $350 each. I would love to go to the Macy's parade, it always looks like so much fun!

Yeah, if we would have flown AirTran out of Portland, it would have been around $283 per person. Ugh! I am so glad my flights are booked and paid for, but I should be more diligent in looking for reduced rates so we could be refunded points or money. I just never seem to take the time to do this. So, you like road trips, huh? I think the farthest we've ever gone for a road trip is Rhode Island on a bus to see Roger Williams Park Zoo. I don't like spending that long in a car! :confused3

I just saw this thread!!
Please Add me!!! We are going 20-25 Aug!
Nice meeting everyone!! :D

Hi Mac!!!! Welcome to the party!!!! :dance3:

That's a great question!!!! And anyone can ask a question!!! I have a story about ADR's that I'll have to share in a bit. :thumbsup2

We're trying Whispering Canyon for the first time. I've never been to Wilderness Lodge and I love that type of architecture, so I'm super excited to explore the resort, too!

Haha! I've eaten at all 3 and repeating 'Ohana and Tusker House on this trip!

'Ohana is probably my absolute favorite!! It's so delicious and awesome! The best ADR time we could get is 8:15. I check every day for an earlier time!!

We have done Tusker House breakfast and this time we're doing lunch. The breakfast was really good. Just be sure to get a picture with Donald outside with your OWN camera because they one they take, you have to buy and it's expensive!!

The Wilderness Lodge is my favorite resort. You are going to love it! It's so beautiful. Whispering Canyon has good food. If you have some time to kill at the resort, I suggest renting a boat on the Lake for an hour or so either before or after you eat. DH and I did that once and it was the most relaxing afternoon we've ever spent in Disney! You can drive it all around the 2 lakes, by the other resorts and pretty close to the Magic Kingdom. :thumbsup2

Yep, we've done both Tusker House for breakfast and O'hana for breakfast. Loved them both!! Even though I'm in my 40's and my child is 14, we still enjoy the character interactions! We also are trying the Whispering Canyonn this year. I'm very excited for this one! Apparently, I am told we have to ask for ketchup! :woohoo:

Hi all! just wanted you to know that the list will be updated on Monday.

I love the idea of this question of the day! :cool2:

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our trip due to unexpected financial issues. I am so upset. But, there's nothing I can do about it. :sad1:

We will plan another trip, probably for next year. In the meantime, it is great living vicariously through you. :3dglasses

Does anyone have a trip report going?

Oh, Im so sorry Firechick that you had to cancel your trip. Yep, that stupid financial stuff gets in the way all the time, doesn't it? It sucks!! Live through us all you want!!! I have a ptr going on right now. You can see the address in my siggie. You and everyone else are more than welcomed to check it out. It's not all that exciting right now. I always do a trip report as well with lots of pictures!

I have been lurking on this thread for FAR too long!

Why lurk when you can join in with the awesome group!!! Your dates are almost the exact ones as mine, although we have to come back on the 28th as Victoria goes back to school on the 29th! We stayed at POR back in 2010, so I haven't seen the upgraded rooms either. Maybe we'll be back there someday. :yay:

ADR: We're trying Jiko this trip. I've heard great things about their food and wine list, so I'm hoping they'll do some pairings for us.

My in-laws live in Minnesota, right near the border of South Dakota. Since my husband passed 5 years ago I have made the trip 4 times with just me and my kiddos. We get on the interstate at 3:30am and get to MN by 10pm. :faint:

We also take weekend trips to NYC or DC, both of which are about 8 hours away...we love roadtrips :goodvibes
QOTD: How do you respond to the bah humbuggers who try to ruin your excitement with a reminder about the weather such as how hot it is or how it is hurricane season?
Not many of those so far....but this is my first August trip coming up...

What ADR are you most exited about???
Tusker House! We missed AK entirely the last trip and just looking forward to trying this one out.

My QOTD: What do you tell people who ask "Didn't you just go to Disney {X} months ago?"

My reply, "Yep! and I wish I could go back sooner!!":rotfl:

What ADR are you most exited about???

Well the biggest one I am looking forward to is our first Signature dining experience at Yachtsman Steakhouse.

But then I have ones that I am over the moon about because we will get to spend time with my Mom and Dad. The kids don't get to see their Grandmom and Pop-Pop very often because of both our locations. So the meals we will be spending together are Ohana and Maya Grill both of which are repeats and favorites of our family. And a new one we are trying out is WPE in DTD. We are super excited for this trip as we have had a REALLY rough year and need a family get away together time. And we get so share some time with my parents at WDW, I will truly be on :cloud9: and in  It doesn't even bother me that I will be there in August, cause hey it's FREE DINING!!! :woohoo:

As a side note: We went down one year in August and we ate and drank and walked and sweated out alot and I came home 10lbs lighter. I call that a win/win situation. :lmao: Eating disney food all day and losing weight, I'm in!!!:thumbsup2

I want in on the fun!

I'm most looking forward to trying Tusker House for lunch!

Oh, the more the merrier!!!! We really enjoyed Tusker House last year and it's on the list for our AK day. We start out with Tusker at 8am and then it's off to the safari. You will like it. The characters are fun and we thought the food was good. We liked that it's buffet style so there's something for everyone. :goodvibes

Oh FANTASTIC!!! My doctor *and myself would be so happy if I did that. See, I'm an insulin dependent diabetic who now has kidney disease due to my diabetes. Not to get into a whole long sad story or make anyone feel unhappy, my family goes to Disney every year while we can as there may be a day that I can no longer go. We tour commando style and it's likely that my body will not allow me to do this someday. So, I will Disney until I can no longer.......

Enough of that poo, I will be wearing lime green Mickey heads with "victoriasmom98" written on them and I would love it if you who see me say hi. I would love to put faces with names! :thumbsup2

This trip it is Schula's, I can't wait to dig into the 32oz prime rib:banana:

I am looking forward to LeCellier. I have been wanting to go there for so long that I am afraid that I might be disappointed.

What ADR are you most exited about???

We will be on the DxDP when we go, therefore we are doing a lot of TS meals...some old favorites and some new ones. The one I am most excited for would have to be Fulton's Crabhouse. I have been wanting to eat here for a very long time but was too cheap to. I know this place has been getting not so good reviews recently, but I am excited to try it out for ourselves :cool1:.

I just had to come in here and let all of my DISer friends know how excited I am right now, plus to let you all know I have the best husband ever :goodvibes:love:....DH and I were driving home from taking our kids to their grandparent's house (they live 3 hours away from us) for their annual week getaway during the summer. Anyway, DH has been wanting to do something just him and I next weekend because we are both off of work and are now kidless. So he comes up with the idea of going to WDW for the weekend :cool1::banana::woohoo::scared1:. At first I thought he was just playing with me, but he suggested it again. So as we were on the highway, I called CRO up and booked POFQ for 2 nights (going from Friday night until Sunday) with the basic DDP and will be spending Saturday at our favorite park, Epcot :cloud9::love:. This is the first time that DH and I will be going to Disney without the kids (BTW we are not letting them know either...afterall, what they don't know won't hurt them right? :goodvibes). Now I have to go and look for airfare :scared1:.

I am most excited about trying Flying Fish Cafe. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone!

Hmm.. ADR I'm most looking forward to in August.. so hard to pick! :goodvibes There are two that I've never tried and am really excited for, Sci Fi Dine In and Les Chefs de France :thumbsup2 ... revisiting Sanaa and Teppan Edo which are family favourites... but also Akershus for the first time, intrigued to try Norwegian food, plus meet the princesses :cutie:

67 days to go.. it's getting soo close! :woohoo:

Still waiting to book a Wishes dessert party on the 11th, but no dates showing in August yet... also two rounds of golf for the men in our group :thumbsup2

Hello All!:goodvibes

I just found this thread and I wanted to pop in and join in the fun! My family consists of me, my DH, DD21, DD18, and DD10. We will be back at WDW from August 28 - September 2. We will be staying at the Poly for the very first time and we are so excited!

All of our ADRs are set (at least for now, before I change them again:rotfl:), and now we are just counting down the days! Our flights are booked as well, leaving BOS at 6:30 AM on the 28th! The only thing I am contemplating is whether or not to go with the regular dining plan or deluxe dining plan.

Looking forward to counting down the days with you all!

Welcome - you will enjoy this thread - everyone knows so much. I see you are one of the "crazy morning people", too. We are leaving Buffalo at 6:05 am on August 17th!!! My DH thinks I'm nuts, but I say, hey, if you can start your Disney fix by 9 am, all the better. We'll definitely crash early that night, but I love those early direct flights!!
