Hi Seneca!!!!! Lucky you have more than 1 trip coming up!!! :cool1:

Hi Victoria! Well, i was suffering from Disney withdrawal when along comes a pin LOL. So playing around with prices I find a short trip isn't that unreasonable and here I am :lmao:

A side note, someone pointed out to me that the 30% discount would be better so that kind of sealed the deal. :goodvibes

Can we still keep this thread going for support when we're all depressed come September?

TOTALLY!!!! No one else will understand our withdrawals except each other!!!

Those darned pins!!! It would be a sin not to take advantage of them, right? :lmao: Now, I see you are from NY. Do you fly or drive down? Being from Maine, we have to fly but boy, the prices of flights are outrageous. Fortunately we found some flights out of Manchester, NH that were good.

On a side note from me, we'll be in your state for the Macy's parade on Thanksgiving! Looking forward to that trip (my Mom is paying for our family) since it's free, but I'd rather have another trip to Disney!!! ;)

Cinnderly, this will become our support group :lmao:

Victoria, We flew in April and we're flying in August. Next year we're driving! lol. My car is 7 years old with 150k miles on it so don't want to push my luck, it's done great on other roadtrips (we've taken many) but Disney might just do it in :lmao: Buying a new (used) car in September so roadtrips are on again! I wish I had gotten that pin one day earlier, JetBlue had flights from Buffalo to and from MCO for $90 each way!! :rotfl: So gonna hold out for a couple more weeks and see how things go. Right now AirTran is the cheapest at $350 each.

I would love to go to the Macy's parade, it always looks like so much fun!

I just saw this thread!!
Please Add me!!! We are going 20-25 Aug!
Nice meeting everyone!! :D

QOTD: How do you respond to the bah humbuggers who try to ruin your excitement with a reminder about the weather such as how hot it is or how it is hurricane season?[/QUOTE]

Ok, my answer to them is A) IT'S DISNEY! (DUH :rolleyes1) and B) FREE DINING!!! (DOUBLE DUH!! :rotfl2:) That is all I have to say on that matter. :lmao:

I just say we can handle it, make sure to get plenty of pool time and its hot at home too. There are always ppl who have to put down the idea of WDW and it seems worse saying I am going in Aug. Oh well

Mind if I ask the QOTD this morning???

What ADR are you most exited about???

We are doing mostly repeats this trip but I'm most excited for our Le Cellier lunch ADR. We've only ever done dinner and I've got my eyes on that stead sandwich!!

I'm most excited for O'Hana. I hope it doesn't let me down! :)

We are having breakfast at Tusker House for the first time. I hope we enjoy it.

I would have to say Ohana. Everybody seems to like it (I know some don't), but it's our first time eating there so I'm very excited!

We're trying Whispering Canyon for the first time. I've never been to Wilderness Lodge and I love that type of architecture, so I'm super excited to explore the resort, too!

Haha! I've eaten at all 3 and repeating 'Ohana and Tusker House on this trip!

'Ohana is probably my absolute favorite!! It's so delicious and awesome! The best ADR time we could get is 8:15. I check every day for an earlier time!!

We have done Tusker House breakfast and this time we're doing lunch. The breakfast was really good. Just be sure to get a picture with Donald outside with your OWN camera because they one they take, you have to buy and it's expensive!!

The Wilderness Lodge is my favorite resort. You are going to love it! It's so beautiful. Whispering Canyon has good food. If you have some time to kill at the resort, I suggest renting a boat on the Lake for an hour or so either before or after you eat. DH and I did that once and it was the most relaxing afternoon we've ever spent in Disney! You can drive it all around the 2 lakes, by the other resorts and pretty close to the Magic Kingdom. :thumbsup2

I've been super busy so i haven't been able to check the boards for over a week. Boy has this thread picked up! It seems I've missed a few QOD's so here goes.....

Arrival day plans: we will land around 1pm so by the time we get to POR, get checked in and settled and check out the new Royal Guest Room (not that I'm excited about that or anything), it will probably be at least 4pm. We have ADR's at Chef Mickey's that night at 9pm. We are planning on heading to MK so I can have my first walk down Main Street. It sounds so silly but I associate walking down main street with the beginning of our trip evey time we are there. I still get excited over my first glimpse of the castle! Once I can announce that our adventure has begun we will grab a turkey leg. This is my DD's requirement lol. After spending a few hrs at MK we will take the monorail to Chef Mickey's for supper then head back to the resort and get some rest. It sounds exhausting as I read it but you can give me that type of exhaustion any day!

Favorite table service: another vote here for 50's Prime Time. DD and I love to get DS in trouble. It never seems to be a difficult task lol. We love the atmosphere and the comfort food it provides.

ADR we are most excited about: in all the times we have visited we have never been to Ohana. We managed to snag a 7pm ADR this trip and we are super excited about trying it. The food looks fantastic!

How do we deal with the hummbuggers?: we have gone the last week in August 3 years in a row now. Last year we managed to escape the hurricane that left our hometown without electricity for 7 days. If anyone would dare try and put a damper on our excitement I would just remind them of our wonderful time last year while they were up here without lights, water, phones or cable :cool1:

86 more days before we leave. As much as I want the time to come, I do love the anticipation and planning. We will be there before we know it!:dance3:

I was most excited for Bistro de Paris.

Le sigh...

So now I'm most excited for Chefs du France, which we haven't tried yet either. But mostly I'm just excited for the whole trip. :)

Hi all! just wanted you to know that the list will be updated on Monday.

I love the idea of this question of the day! :cool2:

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our trip due to unexpected financial issues. I am so upset. But, there's nothing I can do about it. :sad1:

We will plan another trip, probably for next year. In the meantime, it is great living vicariously through you. :3dglasses

Does anyone have a trip report going?

Aww, what a bummer!! So sorry to hear that. :(

I will definitely be doing a trip report. My pre trip report is tacked onto my existing TR from my February trip but for some reason I don't have that link in my signature yet..... I'll be sure to post the TR here once it starts.

I'm hoping to meet a few DISers this trip! I've met lots of DISers on my past few trips, mostly randomly! It's so much fun!

I'm really sorry to hear that, it sucks being an adult sometimes.

I have been lurking on this thread for FAR too long!
This is my family and my 5th August in a row, we always go the last two weeks of August. This year we will be there 8/17-8/31, staying at our favorite resort POR! I can't wait to see the new refurbed rooms and the Queen beds!

Arrival day plans: We should land at MCO around 12:30 and hope to be at POR by 2pm. We plan to get settled and maybe hit the pool before catching the boat to DTD for an early dinner. I like to keep it low key on arrival day so that we can hit RD on the next morning.

Favorite TS restaurant: too many to decide. Top 3 CP breakfast, LeCellier lunch and WCC dinner. My kids LOVE comfort food. :woohoo:

ADR most excited about: T-Rex cafe, this will be our first time trying it and DS8 is crazy about dinosaurs.:cool1:
