This was my last ADR to make.. so pleased to have one booked for August 11th! :cloud9:

I hate to give this little nugget away but I will just for the dis boards.:rolleyes1 Last DIS moms trip we camped out in France outside of the bakery until Illuminations was done. Then walked back to BWVs the long way. Oh it was heavenly:cloud9:

now this trip I am going commando on my own. I'll get in the parks at 2 and go until late then back up and early for my next day. Hubby will join me for a dinner at Epcot after his conference. I hope to hide in that same spot again. :cloud9:

We ALWAYS take the long way around WS when Illuminations is done. Even if we watch from Mexico, we start walking clockwise and everyone is going in the opposite direction! We sit and stop along the way and watch people go by. It's so nice and leisurely and no one ever asks us to move along!

Dinosaur Barbeque is fantastic! We had one here in Troy, until Hurricane Irene flooded and destroyed the place, but it was super popular here!!YUM!! The Pulled pork sandwich was Heavenly:angel:

We tried to get in at the Syracuse location on December 30th (the night before our last trip) but holy moly, the place was packed. It would have taken forever for us to get seated and we had one hungry teenaged boy and a very early morning the following day (our plane left at 7 am). So we took a pass and vowed it would be for next time.

I am surprised, if the Troy location was anywhere near as busy as the Syracuse one, that they haven't decided to rebuild . Or maybe that's already in the works.

I just wish they'd take reservations!!!!! :headache:

Normally I would be looking forward to eating the fried chicken at 50's prime time. It is one of my favorites. DH wants to do Sci-Fi instead this trip. I have never been there and willing to give it a try.

So, I am really looking forward to our breakfast at Tusker House. Never eaten there and I have heard they have a decent breakfast.

Just booked the dessert party for 8/20!!

That was our last ADR, now we just need to count down the days!!!

Good Morning August trip planners! I don't want to dominate the question of the day so someone else take a crack at it.:)

We're thinking of taking our last trip with the AP's in February while my husband has a week off. It would mean taking the kids out of school though. It's getting harder and harder to do that.
We all have from Christmas until the 7th of January off though. So I priced out my options and got a little excited about that idea yesterday.
But this morning I woke up thinking "Pigletto, are you insane?":crazy2:

And while the answer to that question might always be "Yes", I don't know if I need to go to WDW the busiest week of the year to prove it.:rotfl:

QOTD: What's your ideal length for a tip?

My answer: 10 nights is my minimal and two weeks is my max. We usually end up going once a year for two weeks. I like a nice long trip so that I can slow down and smell the roses and still see and everything we want.:cool1:

Agreed 10 days is perfect when you are with the family. It gives you travel time plus time to relax. We did that last time and it was awesome. Now by myself or just the girls any amount of time is great

8 nights is sufficient for us. 4 nights at Poly and 4 nights at BC ;)

Congrats to the Team members who got their dessert party ressies. We did this for my 40th and it was ok. I dont think I would do it again, but Im glad I tried it:)

QOTD: What's your ideal length for a tip?

We would love 10+ days (I took trips that length when I was a kid), but right now we can't swing that because of our jobs. In fact, our last few trips have been for 4 days (waaaay too short), so we're thrilled that this one will actually be for 7!

QOTD: What's your ideal length for a tip?

Ideal length is about 10 days. A few days longer than a week to adjust for travel days. Anything after that we tend to get really worn down. We try to take it easy and slow, but it's still way more walking and excitement than we're used to so after 10 days we've happily had enough, and aren't sad to leave.

Do you have your own vehicle (rented or owned) during your vacations or do you rely on WDW transportation?

We also rely totally on Disney Transportation. I'm afraid I would get lost having my own vehicle!!

What is the food item or meal you are most looking forward to???

I don't think there is really ONE item I am most looking forward to. I'll have to think on that one.....:confused3

Had to share since one question was saving money for the trip- I began saving after last years trip, coins and dollars when I could and so far this is my stash

I have $332 in cash now and who knows is coins!! I think it probably will add up to close to $200 more by the time we leave. Before our '09 trip I saved for 4 years, coins, and had almost $900 in change!!

Absolutely LOVE this!!! :thumbsup2

Just booked the Dessert Party for 08.29!!!! sounds yummy!

AWESOME FOR YOU BOTH!!!!! :goodvibes

QOTD: What's your ideal length for a tip?

Yep....I'd have to agree. This gives us 2 days in each park, a day of rest and a day at US or Sea World. So, our trips are usually 11 days

Ideal trip length?

We normally do 8 nights (one being a park and fly night the day prior to our Orlando arrival) which is great, but I wish it was longer. I would say 10 days would be perfect.....not so long as we get totally worn out, but long enough that we feel we had time to do everything we want to do.

That said, we have a "senior citizen" living with us who despises our absence. We normally won't ask a caregiver to have to look after her longer than 8 nights.....its not fair to her, or them either!!! So I can't see us extending a trip any longer than what we currently do.....until such time as our house is pet-free. Here's my girl:

She's 14 years old now, but still the family princess.

Don't be fooled by that angelic face, though......she can be a spiteful little thing when she wants to be. After our Disney trip in 2009, once the "woohoo! they are home!" warm and fuzzy feelings wore off, she decided to punish us by peeing places that aren't intended to be used as bathrooms :crazy2: . Thankfully, that phase passed relatively quickly, but let's just say not so quickly that she didn't make her point.

When we are cat-less (and kid-less) I would love to do a full two week getaway with the hubby. I don't care where :) .

QOTD: What's your ideal length for a tip?

We normally stay 9 nights/10 days which allows us to do the parks twice with a couple of off days in between. We also have been known to go for 6 nights, but after being used to our normal 9 night stay, it felt like we were too rushed to get everything in. For our upcoming trip, we are extending our stay to 13 nights/14 days which will be a first for us. We are very excited to be in our Happy Place for that long of a time and it is allowing us to do so many new things that we haven't done before (i.e. both Water Parks and DisneyQuest).

QOTD: What's your ideal length for a tip?

8-10 days for me. I think that is enough time to get everything in that you want to see. And it gives you a lot of time to see everything instead of rushing to get everything done.

First off, your cat is adorable!
And I agree about leaving a pet too long. I have two cats and they don't like us leaving for very long. We usually have someone to come over once or maybe twice to check on them, give them more food, etc. It's not very fair to them, so we try not to be away very long, even though I would love to extend our Disney vacation. But we can't do that to them!

Agreed. The 2 bunnies are going to be spoiled when we go but leaving them longer than we have isn't fair
