My rate dropped today finally!! Midsize with Alamo for Aug 8th-15th for $126 total. Not too shabby. I used the Visa corporate ID 7015504 and $30 off coupon code AD2338FDF
Hmmm, I've been trying to get my Alamo rate a bit lower using the codes listed above but it's still holding at $168 (for a mid-size). I'm hoping to get it for $150 or less. Guess I'll just keep plugging in those discount codes everyday to see if my rates drop a little more.
My rental car went down further today- 8/25-9/3 $146! (midsize with Alamo)
Used my insiders discount and the aa $35 off coupon. Before today, it was $158.
The Alamo $35 code is AD2359FDF. I'm not sure when, but I did receive it myself in an "Insider" e-mail.
Current Alamo rates for mid-to-late August have dropped dramatically. Our 11-day (8/9-20) standard size reservation using the insider code and the abovementioned discount comes in at a taxes-included $163, or slightly less than $15 a day.
Just want to make sure you know you can book now and then cancel and rebook if it goes lower without penalty. Would hate to see you miss out and the rates go way up again if you didn't know that. Thanks! Interestingly, even with the insider discount and the $35 off, the Visa corporate code and $30 off coupon is still $6 cheaper.
But I am glad to see the prices are trending down. Still hoping to get closer to $90 before I pull the trigger![]()

sarmat1 said:Wow - can't believe Alamo's daily rate drops. Sunday $184, Monday $174 and now Tuesday $158 for 10 days, using nothing more than the Insiders ID and the $35 publicly posted coupon.
my best alamo rate has come with simply being logged into my insiders account and then the 35 coupon that has been posted everywhere.
So I've been pricing other rental companies since I can't find a good rate with National. We will be renting out of Tampa and I signed up for insiders and used the $35 coupon and came up with a price of $365Then just out of curiousity plugged in MCO leaving everything else the same and got a price of $126!! Seriously more than twice as much
I don't understand why it is so much more to rent out of Tampa??? So much for flying into Tampa to save on airfare. Looks like the rental car is going to eat up some of our savings. Sorry just needed to vent.
