August 2011 Code Watch Lets keep each other company for the next year!!!

Seeing as we are a year out now, thought I would begin a August 2011 code watch thread, so that we can all keep each other company, in the hope that it makes the next year go much quicker

We are travelling from 11th August to the 30th August. (We are from the UK, hence the 19 day vacation!).

From the 16th to the 30th August we are satying at POR (my fave resort).

From the 11th to the 16th August, my hubby thinks we are staying at POP, but I plan to surprise him with a CL stay at AKL, so will be hoping for a 40% off room only code

Not exactly sure of the dates yet, but it will probably be August 16-23. We've only ever stayed at CBR, but this trip we are going to give POR a try. Hoping free dining will be offered when we go, that is still the best discount for us. If not, maybe a room discount or something, any which way we are still going.

We are going the 19th to the 28th!!!! We will be staying at the Grand Floridian! I can't wait for our trip it will be our first trip with 2 children!!!

We're going the last two weeks of August. We're hoping to stay at the Poly again.

We are looking at 2 sets of dates for August next year. As much as I love Disney vacations, planning for them can be very stressful waiting for rates, codes and dining reservations!

I subscribed to the May 2011 thread too, but now thinking about it, with the kids getting older and school, we are second guessing and thinking August will be best for us! I admit, I am afraid of the heat, but we'll go with a good plan and hope for the best.

I have my fingers crossed for free dining again. That will always be the best deal for us because we have 4 kids. And by August 3 of them will be paying adult prices.

We have a year to wait, but by the end of every year, don't you say "Wow this year flew by"

I am leaving in 9 days...and hoping for a bounceback for next August. With free dining starting on 8/15/10 I am hoping they will expand the bounceback dates into next August so I can book our trip. DH and I are taking 4 kids ages 6-12--none of them our own!!

Love the Broadwalk area resorts especially at night.

You will love POR it is my favourite resort by far. Love the area and the boat to DTD.

You certainly do, here in the UK many shops have started selling Christmas decorations and it seems like last week we were just celebrarting it!

For me half the fun in going to Disney is the planning. We love August and just plan afternoon rests and pool time to escape the heat.

They now have a preferred section for POR listed under room categories on Disney's website. Any ideas what they might be? I was thing maybe AB 14 & 15. I'd call but I don't know if the CM's will know. I'll just wait and see if it pops up on the boards.

I personally have booked now and will be on the look out every day for offers. I will then ring up and hopefully have them applied to our booking. CSR looks a lovely resort!

Def AB 14 is one. There is a fab website designed by a fellow Brit portorleans.org , it's a fan site but is crammed full of loads of information, I recommend a visit. I love POR, I feel homesick when I am not there!

We were hoping to be there from 8/15/11 to 8/21/11 but my DH cannot make it at that time, so we are going to have to change it to 8/1/11 to 8/6/11. I am hoping there are some discounts coming for the early part of August, as I believe the discounts don't normally start until 8/15/11 (but I hope I am wrong about that). Does anyone have any insight as to when the 30%-40% discounts usually apply?

Hello all!! My family of four will be going on Aug 24 to Sept 3 or there abouts. We (by that I mean I) haven't decided on the resort yet but I'm thinking 6 nights at CSR and then 3 nights at AKL or BWI. I keep going back and forth.
We stayed at POR two years ago prior to our disney cruise and loved it. Our last trip to Disney prior to that was when DH and I were 15 years old and in high school together. If anyone has any suggestions for which resorts to do our split stay at, that would be great. Our DD's will be 9 and 7.
